Well said boothy, yet again !
Digital A ? – also well said an i agree with several of your points. but i’m angry with Bush (I can’t speak for everyone else) for what he represents, the histroy, the deceit, the lies, the hypocisy, the inhumanity, the self-serving immoral, unethical greed and arrogance in his and anyones ‘god given rights’. I don’t hate him personally, I don’t know the man but he is part of, the HEAD of a corrupt system which i cannot support. Democracy? Really? You think?! An he’s not the only one i have a problem with so i’m not pickin on him because he’s american.
As for what would you do if you were Bush? Its not that simple, but i’m sure things could be done differently. We need a different structure entirely, human greed and fear have to be abolished and god i’m getting off the subject and onto my soap box so . . .   end rant.
so what would you do in Bush’s shoes?
please, tell me …
i wouldn’t be in his shoes; we are fundamentally different people, therefore it’s not a valid question (you’re starting from the wrong place)
I only believe people are to quick to throw blame and may make statements which are not backed with knowledge or an understanding of previous and current events just frustration and it seems once one person says ”F**k bush” and another is quick to repeat …
If Iran had killed our sailors, on national television, what would you say then?
what in your view, if that episode (and thank god it didnt) had occured would or should we have done as a country?
please tell me,
i would like to add i am in no way trying to conflict with anyones opinions and i fully except and understand what all of you are saying, i am just interested 🙂
I studied politics for 3 years and at first I loved it because it was all new to me. However now I just realise it is just endless arguing and absolute hate everything about it. No matter what way you look at it there can never be a stable government which will fulfil everybodys needs so whats the point in bitching and whining it could be worse. 😉
Or better 😛
:laugh_at:

if it’s a question of understanding previous events, look at the history of british and american involvement in the middle east.
* dating back to world war one, which started as a european conflict over access to cheap Iraqi oil. an invasion of Iraq…
* Britain was instrumental in overthrowing the secular, democratic Iranian government in 1951, over oil
* we supplied Saddam Hussein with weapons of mass destruction to fight Iran
* America gives millions of dollars in weapons and cash to Israel every day
* blair and bush were the only national leaders in the world not to call for an immediate ceasefire during Israel’s attack on Lebannon last year, in which thousands of civilians were killed
* we started an agressive war in the middle east, led by george bush in which around 700,000 people have died, based on a lie. When that lie was exposed, it became “an American plan to bring democracy to the middle east” (the irony of this statement knows no bounds).
* Those prosecuted at Nurenburg were prosecuted for “waging wars of agression”. If the Nurenburg were held today, under that definition Bush and Blair would be war criminals, punishable by death.
* Donald Rumsfeld was director of a private Swiss company that sold nuclear arms technology to N. Korea, making a personal profit of around $200,000,000 while also working for the US government, responsible for preventing nuclear proliferation. Now we are threatening Iran with all kinds of action, because we believe they have intentions of developing a nuclear deterrant. The hypocrisy just beggars belief
I say Fuck Bush because as a president he legislates in the interests of the extremely wealthy few, against the average many. he legislates to oppress freedom. he passed legislation to allow any federally funded bosy (e.g. schools) to discriminate during employee recruitment based on gender, ethnicity and sexual orientaion, undoing a century of civil rights progress. he is a war criminal. I say Fuck Bush because he has chosen this path for himself. I say Fuck Blair too
👿

please tell me,
if Iran executed the british sailors on TV??? they didn’t do that. it doesn’t bear any relation the real present. Why are you asking that? I think Iran took them prisoner to stick 2 fingers up at the west and say “you cannot control us. don’t come any closer”.
The sailors were captured a couple of miles into Iraqi waters. Who’s to say that half an hour before they weren’t in Iranian waters. I’m not saying they were, but no british military or government leader is prepared to discuss that. Britain says they weren’t, Iran says they were.
at what point will we take our foot off the gas pedal that is driving us towards greaters global conflict and say “we must find another way to travel, keep warm, produce food etc”?
the transition is upon us.
we can spend up the last few precious resources sending out battle ships to kill one another over the dwindling resource, or spend that money looking for alternatives, while there’s still a grid full of electricity to run our computers, lights and telecommunications
why not?
i was going to speak about how events can escalate, nevermind, i understand all that is being said, thank you for your opinion G
tomm
tomm
i think events are often escalated as tool to push some other, hidden agenda
i’m going out now (to a grime night :yakk: that we are taking the rig to) so i won’t get back tonight
but i’d like to know more about what you’re getting at

no probs, speak soon man, have a good’un 😉
That sort of question is why I hate politics because it just shows why its a never ending debate. I like maths I like things with an answer. The only thing I can say to that is that it isn’t possible because not everybody wants the same thing. For example Abortion thats a topic everybody has an opinion on and theres a lot of mixed answers. How is a government supposed to decide whether its legal or not. Okay its legal at the moment but should it be? This is what I mean by cannot fulfil everybodys needs because just on this topic alone I bet theres a huge percentage of people who are not happy with the way it is. So, you cannot fulfil everybodys needs/wants the government can only please a majority and thats what they do ‘most’ of the time. (except for going to war with iraq)
Are all of your political views the same as the party you follow? If they are then well done! If not… then aren’t you surely picking the best/closest to your views out of a shit bunch of parties.
Over the weekend, President Bush told a crowd of supporters in Florida that he is the best protection from the draft. That’s not true. Bush’s dad was the protection from the draft:wink:
loadsa ppl will agree that, any bush big or small, is protection from draft.
