with more police this year at glasto apparently (even though crime levels have dropped to next to nothing since the fence went up) they say they are gunna clamp down on drug use. i hate the fact they are doin it… ‘cos drugs never caused any harm at glasto, and are part of the experience. but oh well

wonderin if anyone knows whether its worth the risk. sniffer dogs are unlikely at the festival, but thorough searches are likely…

TBH i’d much rather stomp to the chemical brothers pilled up and lovin it than pissed on shit loadsa beers… :groucho:

I’m pretty sure they still do it –

not sure –

but when my sis got caught at Glasto (however this is mid 90’s)

they had an amnesty and only a caution – whatever done for –

(I’m again guessing unless big time obvious supplying / selling)

I couldnt take the risk so she held for me ….

(awfull as I kept loosing her :laugh_at: but ….)

i’m not sure if its any useful information, but i had a friend who worked at reading festival last year and when she got taught about searches they told her to ignor weed unless it was in large (dealer worhty) amounts…

to be fair, searching thousands and thousands of peoples very deep rucksacks is just going to be a stupid about of hassle and time, i wouldnt worry too much, as with all situations drugs are never going to dissapear, but then can just try and catch irrisponsible users and people who are there to make money.

enjoy glasto, i cant stress how jealous i am!

Just put it in a pair of socks or something andstash them in the middle somewhere! They wont find it for shit! I didn’t get searched when walking into reading (i dunno if anyone did). Dunno what it’s like at glasto though!

i went to glasto in 2003 and it was pretty lax… i was pretty young then but i will still dondering around smoking pot and had no issues and none of the ppl i was with got searched

went to sunrise festi other weekend and there were police driving around the site, security there as well but they didnt seem too bad.

are festis getting more OB presence these days?

A few years ago my b-in-law was at reading festy in his tent rolling up with the last of his soapbar crumbs in his tin mixed with a load of baccy, when a copper stuck his head in the tent and said the classic “hello hello whats going on here then” he made him empty his tin and part rolled joint into his hat (bear in mind it was pissing with rain the copper was outside and the soapbar was all crumbs mixed with baccy (bet he had soapbar in his hair all weekend)). Anyways thats all they did to him but in the next tent they found a few pills in a stash box and hauled the geezer off to the station to be nicked.

as this is the drugs forum i heard one rumour, and 1 i actually knew happened, one was a friends friend friend had a sheets of acid and a copper came by and the guy ate all of it, cant remember how many sheets but more than 2, and the guy tripped his bollocks off and it was too much for him and he still trips vividily now!, the other was up at my local “hill”, some copper i knew found a guy with half an ounce of the finest, and instead of knicking him, whitch he couldnt be bothered to do, he just made him crumble it into the wind!!!!, how gutting must that have been!
