Ogdens, New Forest is a great place to start!
Its never let us down yet, My friend doesnt really want to mention any other places.
found a load on dartmoor without even looking last weekend… they just kept throwing themselves in front of me 🙂
Hmmm i went out today to “walk the dog” and there were literally A BAJILLION mushrooms in these 5 fields. It’s been raining for ages and cows are in the fields all the time so I was thinking that it’s good conditions for them, right?
Anyway, I picked a few and my dad reckons they’re liberty caps BUTTTT.. i don’t wanna risk it. But they’re got a nipple on the top and they’re the right colour I think. But they have these faint lines running down the cap and I dunno if that’s right :S
What time was it, the ground should be damp, normally around early morning before the sun comes out properly but i’ve seen em at night before.
It was late morning, and the ground was soaking cos it’s rained alot recently. I’ll get pictures in a bit. I’ve been told that they grow around here. There were quite a few different kinds of mushrooms though (prolly about 5 different kinds). 🙂
