Maybe this will be the start of a zombie pandemic. At least i’m prepared for it and to think people called me mental!? :you_crazy :weee:
but what I am hearing currently is the NHS seems to be taking this new ‘threat’ very seriously
and just wanted to hear if anyone else around the country has heard similar?
i, for one, am glad that some one is takin these possibilities seriously.
we should prepare for low probability, high impact events ie asteroid strikes, pandemics etc.
can i just mention Black Swans? 😉
Great blog. We need to keep pandemic preparedness at the forefront of every business manager’s mind. It won’t go away so better start preparing.
For free references, resources and to join their free eCourse certification program, go to Bird Flu Manual Online ( Bird Flu Manual ) or, if you need more comprehensive tutorials, tools and templates, consider Bird Flu D-I-Y eManual for your pandemic influenza preparedness ( Pandemic Influenza Preparedness ).
i am feeling a bit chesty today, oh dear… :hopeless:
oh, and no-one has mentioned bird’man’ flu yet!
sqwauk, sqwauk! :group_hug
*pussy :laugh_at:
shocking attitude from a health professional, what are we paying ur wages for, exactly!
sqwauk, sqwauk! :group_hug
aparently bird flu is considered more of a threat by the guvenment than terrorism .. not alot of people know that 😉
Iv herd they consider the possibility of a volcano errupting in central london more of a risk than terrorism *nods* they just cant gain as much control over the population citing volcano’s so they went with the terrorism.
:laugh_at::laugh_at::laugh_at:
At the last place I worked they had a contingency plan for a flu pandemic, on the company intranet there was a lot of information about flu pandemics and as has been mentioned further up the thread they were every 100 or so years. Apparently we are over due a flu pandemic so they are being slightly concerned about it all!
no you cant –
bugger off with ya manly chesty cough 😉
(smoke another fag – that’ll clear it)
squawk! 😉
I get what your saying, I’ve been in the NHS for near on 13 years in some form or the other, and not before been put on an ‘alert’ like this, (ie, planning where the mass morgue’s go etc :hopeless:) hense the reason for the post –
and from reading about it (cant you tell I’ve been bored on nights )
they appear to have been stockpiling vaccines for around 3 years.. so it has been ‘said to be coming’ for ages but was just wondering if it really is or not?
(if other people have been put on alert etc) if you get me
there was several big orders 4 vaccine a couple of years ago, because there was a growing realisation that the world doesn’t have enough production capacity, if the shit hits the fan, on normal flu, or bird flu.
this is mainly talkin bout bird flu, but notice the worldwide production capacity for normal flu virus vaccine, 300 million… thats not even enuff for europe!

i think its great that we get in the queue early, and have a plan for civil emergencies.
don’t want dead bodies all over the streets! 😉
fortunately nurses are a priority case, so ur ok, wotever!
Is this that Aussie flu that the media was on about a while back? To be perfectly honest i ain’t bothered at all. It’s always something these days, either our food, the air, thugs, aerosols, kittens, global warming, roaming gangs of grannies, disease, the list is endless. If i truly believed i was gonna die from these things i wouldn’t leave my house and wrap myself in clingfilm and cry, There are two words i live my life by “Fuck it”.
If it happens, it happens lets not worry ourselves too much eh!
whats the big fucking deal, its the flu, quite uncomfortable for a couple of weeks then fine, pandemic my arse
