I used to love psy trance, i mean really, really love it. But a couple of months ago i came to the realisation that the stuff is really, really, really boring (for the most part, some of the stuff is still awesome) and the hippy vibe started to really piss me off. For god’s sake, a dreamy sample about how the universe “is as one”, or putting about 10 samples from Fear and Loathing doesnt add to the track, just makes it more annoying. It’s all about hard techno and gabber now.

Eat Static, System 7 & Banco De Gaia they’re the only ones i’d go to see but god damnit its miles away for me… :cry::cry:

Yea some Psy is good, like some of the darker stuff, but i the Israeli full-on stuff is balls. Its cheesy, not psychedelic and use samples that make me cringe. It’s not “Full-on” because it’s not even hard music in any way. Don’t even get me started on producers like Skazi and Infected Mushroom. I am a fan of Sun Kite, Ticon and i have one cd of Remixes of Astral Projection tracks which is one of my favourite cds.
The thing is, even though in many other genres producers don’t get very inventive (Hard Techno takes “repetition and “Every track sounds the same” to whole new levels), but the basic elements of genres like Techno and gabber are damn good, but psy is just a weak kickdrum over a boring rolling bassline. No offense to any hardcore psytrance fans out there.
