My 23 year old brother was stopped by police in his car and found with 7 grams of cocaine in bulk and £500 cash. He is unemployed. They searched the house and found nothing. This is first time offence. He has to wait until late september to see if he will be charged. How likely is it that he will be charged with intent to supply? and also how likely is it that they will check bank records?

He was also tested for cocaine in his system and came up clean.

I think they lab test the purity of the cocaine, so if it is really shite, then it may fair different. I don’t think prison will be a result.

it depends what he said when he was interviewed. was he assigned a solicitor? that’s who he should be asking. it’s potentially dodgy for him or you to discuss an ongoing case on a public forum

police and courts are keen to go after dealers for money they’ve made illegally so they can seize it

Because hes unemployed and so if there are unexplainable deposits into his account it will obviously indicate that he may have been dealing.

I’ve had many m8’s over the years getting busted and never had their back accounts checked to be honest. He was caught with fuckall as far as busted go… On the other hand if he’s dressed up in top clothes and drives a BMW the cops will smell a rat as they do. Also it would have been better for him if they had found coke in his system then he could have said it was a needs must having it. One of my mate was busted at rockness festival 3 moths ago with 7grams 200 notes and 20 E’s and only got changed with pocession. He not been up in court yet….. Tell him good luck I’m sure he’ll just get a slap on the rip and a big, big fine and most likey comunitity service…. also rem the jail’s are full to the busting point 😉

thats what we all thought when two of my mates got busted for organising a rave, but both of them were still sent down.. neither of them had any previous for anything other than motoring offences (in fact the younger of the two had a clean slate and was about to attend University)

the cops in Southern England / London are on a big mission to clamp down on the “party” drugs scene as well as the more addictive drugs, and cocaine (even in powder form) is viewed as as one of the worse class A’s where there is a government target to reduce its use/demand..

that said another friend got done for a large amount of class A’s and we all thought he was going down, but as he had a good job in the construction industry his sentence was suspended and he just had to do community service..
