As a result of changes to the law under the terms of, amongst other legislation, the Licensing Act 2003, you are legally obliged to comply with various requirements for notice and for permission to host an event of the type which you have advertised as occurring on Friday 23rd July 2007. If you are in any doubt as to the legal requirements for hosting such an event, you should consult a solicitor. In any case, you are legally obliged to hold a licence to host such an event, as a legal minimum in the form of a Temporary Event Notice which should have been granted through application to the Council. Derbyshire Police have received no such notice of any application for or granting of such a Notice and as such conclude that no application has been made, or if so, that none has been granted. To persist with the event without such a Notice will render you liable to criminal and civil prosecution. In addition, you may be liable to prosecution either under the terms of Environmental Health and/or Health and Safety legislation. In the event of you proceeding with such an event, in addition, the Police have powers under, amongst other legislation, the Licensing Act 2003 to close any premises in which an event is being held without notice.
It is therefore imperative that you do not persist in holding this event, and that any such event is cancelled or postponed until the necessary legal requirements to hold such an event are met

is this actually the police or sum1 thinking their funny?:bounce_fl

    This is a genuine policeman.

I am a real Policeman….sorry. I have read a number of threads and the majority of contributors are clearly rational and intelligent people, who realise that we have a role to play to protect landowners and residents etc. Please take the advice given in the spirit in which it was intended. Incidentally I have spoken to “Timid Rabbit” and given a similar message

    bugger.
