this kind of theft also happened regularly in England during the big raves of the 1990s, (although it was more amongst the native ravers in this country) it still happens but is not as common recently – but thats only because we now have the most CCTV cameras of the entire EU, which is also why our outdoor raves get busted quicker (its easy to watch large groups of vehicles on roadside CCTV)
also like Pawel mentions presumably about Eastern Europe, the complaints from the rest of society about needing fire service, ambulances etc only arose because in recent years there have been more accidents at free parties – certainly there was a major fire in thetford Forest in 2006 in the vicinity of a party, and several serious injuries occuring at other East Anglian raves in 2007, all of which required East of England Ambulance units to attend or people to be treated at the NNUH or James Paget…
in Europe we seem to take it for granted if we hurt ourselves we can just call 999 / 112 and many parts of healthcare are public funded, but if each rave puts extra burdens on our health services its hardly surprising authorities want to control them more!
