a mates just been told hes got to meet with police tomorrow over a party he threw the other month in order to arrange another time to issue an asbo. they said theyll also be wanting the names of any other organisers and to have a look at the system in order to identify it, although theyve already said they cant conficate anything.
anyone got any expirience with asbos?? im guessing hes got a right to legal advice and a lawer?
will he be able to put a case foward rather than just accept what they give him, maybe to relax the rules a little??
can they stop him from going to parties as long as he isnt involved with organisation??
he should get himself an experienced asbo lawyer; the asbos once granted can fail to be subject to review so the best idea is to challenge and have struck off the list anything he can manage
I have a neighbour who got asbo’d and he says the appeal system is basically non existent and favours the complainent. A google search on ASBO and civil liberties might be instructive for you both.
Hahahahaha! It was someone winding him up mate. He’s been told now! Haha
what a c*nt,

so the whole thing was a wind up?
People should be careful playing this sort of joke. What If he had actually contacted the Police to check the details, or worse called a lawyer? Most lawyers would be pissed off their time had been wasted like that and might have dobbed in the joker…
Impersonating a Police Officer is actually a worse offence than doing an illegal rave, calling someone up claiming to be the OB is as much of a crime putting on a fake uniform and knocking on doors…

G20 bra girl charged for posing as a police officer

:hopeless: :you_crazy
Male models and strippers have also been busted on the same charge, as have many smaller filmmakers who have tried to make scenes for crime dramas without clearing it with their local constabulary.
Even when they film the Bill there are only some areas where the actors are permitted to wear uniform and this all has to be agreed with metpol first.
the law may seem harsh, but bear in mind that lots of far worse kinds than protestors or actors/models pretend to be cops to rob folk….
they also say “imitation is the sincerest form of flattery”, so if you don’t agree with what the cops do, why try to imitate them? At least Jackie Chan is honest, he explained in his book about his life that he often plays a cop or government agent in his movies because he believes in “well run Police Forces and strong Government”…. (to be fair his characters are often genuinely battling corruption and seeking true justice)

completley agree – but in the above example she’s wearing only a bra on top :laugh_at:

even then I’m not surprised, there’s actually been a fair amount of (real) younger serving Police officers of both genders and all sexual inclinations posing in various proportions of their uniform on places like Facebook and even Bebo, as well as bragging about their own sexual exploits and then promptly being grassed up and busted by their Professional Standards Departments :laugh_at:
The brand image of the Police worldwide is supposed to be a conservative and authoritarian one, so they are bound to try and protect it…
its actually the genuine riot helmet which allows the cops to bust people on suspicion of this offence. Just because they are sold on ebay (minus the two letters what identify the force) doesn’t mean you can wear them in the street with impunity.
TBH I expect Metpol / COLP aren’t even that interested in making a charge stick, merely to disrupt and dilute the effect of their protest and cause them inconvenience..

dickheads!
a bit like what happened where I work – deserve it if your gonna be stupid
I heard of a few people who were end of their training to be coppers – used their warrant cards to get into clubs and being idiots about the ‘power’ this brought them when pissed and out in town at night and thankfully they got the sack before they could be ‘propper’ cops :you_crazy:you_crazy

being older I caught the tail end of “life on mars” policing in my area, in about 1991 there was this one village bobby where I then lived what had a big chip on his shoulder because his CID promotion had been blocked because of a upheld complaint of racial abuse, so he was put back in uniform..
this nut used to “patrol” in plain clothes every weekend complete with a 1980s Philips personal radio – this was clearly obsolete in 1991 and he probably got it out of a cupboard rather than “legit” issue from DTELS (the govt agency then responsible for emergency service comsm) which was against the rules (otherwise unaccountable officers could use the radio channels)
he would do this “patrol” with a Rotweiller, his family pet, not a proper Police dog… and to cap it all he would actually talk to the dog, not like proper training commands but as if he were directing a human observation partner! He had also let himself get unfit so my then circle of friends just ran rings round him – it was like having our own real life comedy show..
He was invalided out of the force on “health reasons” shortly afterwards :laugh_at:

mmm…
whilst reading this I was thinking clear mental health issues..
exactly. Although as a teenager it was hilarious to see (and still today fun to look back on) in hindsight it was a bit worrying he was even allowed to remain in a position of power.. He actually was responsible for getting my local intelligence file opened as I was allegedly “part of Spiral Tribe’s Junior Wing” :laugh_at: – it is amusing but that file was still there in 2004… I’m glad we live in Britain and not a more authoritarian country as a nutjob like that could have made my life a lot harder…

i dunno though, imitation can also be used for extreme humiliation purposes, it can really offend people too!
