tbh its worse than that, poor bugger has to get shot at and/or deal with the emotional fallout of killing people he might not even hate that much just because there really are no other opportunities in some parts of USA than to join the military.
I didnt’ even judge him for that as by my own admission I nearly joined border control and also considered HM Coastguard (55-60wpm typing speed, and can type directly from real time radio traffic) – but found that in our country they pay the Coastguard next to fuck all for the vital job they do, not worth pissing into a carton for.
