  • Safe. First off, I wasn’t sure where to post this so if its in the wrong section of the site, I’m sorry.

So here is my situation: I have never been to a ‘rave’ before. I’ve been to house parties and organised parties zooked-up as ‘proper raves’ but the latter always seems more about making money than what my idea of a real rave should be. So because of this, I don’t really have any experience of the scene.

I totally understand why the whole ‘trust’ thing exists on this site. I know its a sensitive issue and I respect that. I know that the best way to gain it is to post frequently but seen as I don’t know a whole lot about the scene, I’m finding it hard to contribute to the site and consequently gain the people-in-the-know’s trust. I know I could just post occasionally and build it up bit by bit, but thats wasted time which could be spent raving it up!

    raaa

I don’t want the organised club nights, I want the real FREE parties where its about being with people, the music and the good times rather than money.

Here is my actual question: what is the best way to gain trust enough from people here to get involved with the scene?

    Any help is appreciated.

    :group_hug

    Thanks

meeting people face to face is the best way really.

That post has made me suspicious by it’s own!

I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt though.

There’s always events that are posted up on here that you have to pay for to get in, and there’s always people on here who go to both kinds of parties.

Make friends on here, arrange to meet them at an organised paying rave and have a good time, or just see who’s going and ask them if you can have a chat and a laugh with them while you’re there.

There’s no quick and easy way to gain peoples trust in any situation, it’s a long, slow, labourious task.

I, myself, have never been to any kind of rave, paying or free.

Generally because I don’t like clubs, I find the atmosphere always negative to me for some reason, so I’m going to find it especially difficult but that’s the way it has to be, so meh!

I meant to make it as honest and unsuspicious as I could… :hopeless:

in London, a lot of the less commercial “organised” club nights are attended by people what can point you in the right direction of squat parties.

In fact some are run by former squat party people and are only in legal venues because of major problems with gangs/violence at some squat parties. At least in a licensed venue you have trained security supposedly have the protection of the Met and the rest of society if scum really try to cause problems – and the requirement for security even at squat parties means entry costs have risen from £5 to even £10 at larger events and there are legal events with £5 entry costs.

Take a careful look at our own events section… 😉

    keep posting,
theres plenty to contribute that you dont have to have attended a free party to know or have an opinion about

things like this posted by binge in the community section – might help you meet people in the know, and underground legal events etc

I, myself, am becoming extremely popular and likeable in the “Spirituality, Morality & Religion” section.

Also, if you donate to this site people will wuv you more.

have you had a revelation to know that? 😉

OK thanks, I’ll guess I’ll try to spew as many of my views on the world out whether they’re appreciated or not, like you O-D 😉

It’s the best way to make friends!

In defense though, I reply on topics that are doing just that.

i find that hanging out near southwark bridge shouting “fuck off” at passing cabs is the best way to find a free party … or it was… the password and meet up has now changed
