What is a gateway drug? Are they real, or just another way to demonize the poor little plant? What’s your position on ‘gateway drugs’ [username]?
I don’t believe 1 illegal drug leads to another, many people never go further than cannabis and very few will go on to become heroin or crack users. Being under the influence can certainly make you more receptive to the idea of doing something new but in my eyes alcohol is by far the worst drug for that.
i mean nobody starts with herion, but its more that your weed guy might turn into your coke guy and stuff like that IMO. but there is a bit of a point that most everyone who is shooting H started with smoking pot, but thats just cuz its illegal, if pot were legal and everything else was still illegal and you got your green from the store as some states allow then it’d cut the link and kill the gateway drug theory. it is circumstance that makes pot the gateway drug not anything intrinsic with the plant.
Yeah but prior to smoking pot almost everyone is familiar with alcohol and may well have been a factor in them using cannabis for the 1st time.
IMO tobacco is more of a gateway drug
You think? You’re an informed guy so I’m sure you have reasons though.
idk, just looking at it the kids i’d hang with who’d smoke tobacco were more likely to be into pharmas, coke, opiates, ect and they exhibited more signs of poly drug abuse.
to me it seemed like the people who just smoked pot might roll on occasion or trip every now and again but they seemed to have less problems than the kids who smoked green and tobacco.
wtf is a gateway drug anyways?
Gateway drug is a made up term by governments to allow their bullshit to be spread and digested eaier and less critically than would otherwise be the case.
yup wish the debate was framed in terms of harm and abuse … not “drugs are bad m’kay.”
