Hmmm… if it was me I’d post a pic with a “Not wanted, if this twat turns up give him a booting” notice.
Can’t help with genny, sorry. Am working on an eco/free-energy mobile unit but not party size (yet).

there’s a fair few people from SE England here and TBH if you stick around I’m sure folk would help out.
used to be my own stomping ground but staying in work meant moving 150 miles away. its now difficult to openly “brag” about having such things or helping out with potentially unlicensed parties. especially as if you are turned over, the cops often seize the gensets and if they are big decent ones apply to the Courts to keep them as backup power for their comms systems, as they changed to digital radios what need way more base stations and thus use more electric.
so you need to make the connections discreetly but it was done just before the net as Dan OOOPS mentioned in another post.
I assume you are in your teens or 20s, and that whatever should happen in your future (careers, maybe even fatherhood) you intend being interested in music/parties for 2 or more decades (or until your ears/body give out). so its worth also researching stuff like smaller scale alternative power sources, low power but loud rigs etc. I am no “hair shirt” environmentalist, I grew up in London and like my gadgets and big rigs high tech and cheap/easy mobility but it was actually outdoor parties what taught me there is a beautiful country and planet out there and one worth keeping in a decent state for each coming generation.
There was a guy posting on here a while ago who was refurbing old generators and selling them for a reasonable price (http://www.partyvibe.com/forums/classifieds/30519-4-5kva-lister-petter-generators.html). Old thread but I get the impression he gets them in every now and again and does them up as a hobby. His email address is on his website http://www.richie-t.com/, might be worth a shot?
I haven’t seen Richie on here for ages, I was aware he had been involved in some unpleasant incidents linked to his lifestyle/sexuality (to the point of suffering nasty injury) and was a bit concerned for his health safety as he disappeared from some of the music forums shortly after that.
but I’ve just seen someone called djrichiet on the IET forums (very in depth electrical engineering forums, TBH I think they cross over the entire electromagnetic spectrum, everything from DC to RF) posting recently and there is no way it couldn’t be him raaa
something to think on though when (other than PV 😉 a chap finds that the “boring nerdy mainstream” forums are friendlier and less judgemental than the alternative ones.
cheers all for your help il keep hunting, its abit bait putting this up here but it is infact the best way i gues! the genny is his mate, bit of a bummer really
Oh, well you can always try steal one off a construction site? i know they have like 2 in every construction site… bit of a mission impossible but with enough heads there wont be a problem. But stay round the forum theres always people here who have rigs and gennys of their own, just gotta wait for them to pop up.
ravers are not the only people what might want to nick gensets off construction sites and elsewhere they are used, including even the staff who work on the site. Thus the Police, business owners and also the companies what make them often co-operate to add in various security features and ensure those who do steal plant are brought to justice. Apart from giving a worse name to an already disliked youth movement, its not as easy a crime as it may seem.
Stealing pro-gennies is an bad idea, they are marked down to minor details with numbers and production info, its too easy to control…
And other stuff like smartwater, RFID-chips, all sorts of things. This is a era of energy supply problems as it is and people wanting to be “individualists” securing resources by force and those with resources what want to keep them are aware.
Uhm, could always unbrand them? and the chip could probably be easily removed on the same night you jack it, anyone with slight electrical knowlage could do it.
And whos to say you dont ditch the genny after? sounds easy to me, specialy if you have a crew of 10+ people…
There are loads of other more ruthless/desparate folk trying this stunt across the UK, and the RFID chips aren’t that easy to detect.
also the moment cops think you are using anything stolen the kind of cops investigating you goes up from the SNT (neighbourhood bobbies) to CID/organised crime monitoring units.
Even if you get a small one from a small site it has wider impact. The builders who lose a days work on Monday are 20 times more likely to grass up a illegal rave and even if they live 200 miles away it still impacts the ravers in those ends. I work with a lot of builders what have to put up with stuff like this and also stuff they have put hard work into getting smashed up and they are genuinely emotionally affected by it. One chap was telling me about how he did all this work on a warehouse in Hampshire and it got trashed by a rave – even though he did get paid again for it he was actually at one point close to tears when he recounted how all his work had been just destroyed. And this is a middle aged English builder, a fit strong man. He said he wouldn’t try and tackle ravers himself and he could understand why folk did them but not why they smashed up the buidling. He wouldn’t want his kids going to one (not because of drugs but he doesn’t want them hanging around with vandals etc) and if he knew some folk were doing one he’d feel obliged to call the Police to protect the building owners investment.
Pure curiosity but what is the cost of a gennie for the average rig?
and yeh totally random with the whole smashing a place warehouse up. Fair enough party up in one. Probably gonna cause a mess too, the average raver probably isn’t going to pick up his cans etc, but actually smashing the building up, whats the point really? bit basic!
