The weather’s changing for the better…:bounce_b::horay:
people can move out of the cities now to the outdoors..
this year should be good – but it may not be a pushover
Not only is it election year locals and cops were a bit harsher last year because of whinging locals, we need to be careful problems that have occured in the city don’t carry through to the outdoors.
Most of the rest of the good advice is already on here
so…
remember to
bring all the stuff you need for the rave (rigs and equipment, happy people, “support kit” like first aid eqpt, rugs etc…)
but
leave behind your personal disputes and egos.. we do not need them in the blazing heat particularly after people have been 12 hours without sleep on a variety of drugs
and
collect your rubbish / and yourselves when it gets to the stage its clear the party’s gone on a bit too long! Of course don’t finish too early but don’t rinse the area until Sunday night and end up with half surrounding villages calling 999 as they think they have been invaded..
Remember everyone including yourselves needs sleep and rest particularly if your travelling bare distance.
safe..
Wise words GL. Especially those quoted. Some people forget that and prefer to carry on until burnt out at the party, rather than conserve a bit of energy and brainpower to make the journey home.
Plus I think that crews caining a venue is one of the reasons people get so pissed off with parties.
That is the main problem with local parties….there is only two real venues that are used for the smaller more frequent parties….but they get properly rinsed. I got very drunk and thought there was a party on early february so i walked for a while to get to a where i thought it was only to find the grass stomped down and dead and really what looked like the aftermath of a party….turned out there had been no party since september. The bigger crews seem to be putting in the effort but im worried that these amazing venues are going to get busted and leave nowhere to party or cause the same problem again, i.e they’ll find two more venues….which will in turn get rinsed and busted.
you’re right
even small parties have an impact on their location
the summer could turn into a running battle if party people as well as crews don’t make an effort to enjoy their freedom responsibly 😐
or it could be beautiful :cloud9:
the choice is ours
scoping out your very own virgin location and then getting away with it, leaving behind a gorgeous place where no-one will guess what went on is part of the buzz IMO
➡
Good points, I hope it goes off better than last year when there was so much OB action it got to the point where you wondered what they were gonna do next and why they had come down so hard !?!?
I think there needs to be a bit more organisation with regards to getting party people on site before the OB find-out………back to the days of flyers and meeting points I feel.
have a look at the threads on PEL legislation… flyers aren’t neccessarily a very good idea
invitations on the other hand…
TBH I think its more the locals’ complaints which make the cops attend
the cops could deploy straight away to the location as soon as the partyline opens – they have fast motors, good maps, GPS and instant radio comms
they could even get intercept warrants to tap partylines as they are updated
but they very rarely do this
its almost always because either the noise of the party or a build up of traffic has made a local complain to the cops,or events going on too long
(I’ve seen a lot of reports where locals say they don’t mind one night but when the party runs on into Sunday evening they get annoyed)
so a lot of the onus is on crews to choose better locations and for party people to be careful of parking and road access..
That used to be the case GL, but last year it seemed like they were there before the crews and party people, plus I guess all the jabber on SJ doesn’t help much, force’s get tipped off about potential parties in there turf.
i know what you mean – but in my area i think a lot of this is due more to the same venues being used over and over again (and cops wanting to pre-empt and stop complaints from the locals) rather than advanced surveillance/detective work – I seriously doubt a force like TVP has the detective resources (apart from maybe a single detective carrying “paperwork collation” duties rather than stakeouts and surveillance ) to devote to stopping free parties when there is loads of real violent crime happening at the moment.
you are right though about danger from loose comms on message boards – they are cheap and trivial to monitor and provide a constant feed of “chatter”. OTOH (apart from the PEL issues) the danger from SJ banter is more the info that leaks out from arguments between crews rather than just talking about potential parties.
it still boils down to better organisation and communications. The cops have got a lot smarter recently, dealt with their internal politics and raised their game – party people must do the same.
hope these clouds part before tomorrow

😎
aye…
but we could do with nudging that ridge of high pressure across the UK into the weekend rather than now…
barometer is currently reaching 1040 at the moment (scorchio!) – and high temperatures shown from Wed to Thursday…..
but by the weekend in most areas pressure is dropping to 1025 (more like early spring, and temperatures getting as low as 15 in some areas during the day, dropping to 9 or 7 at night on Sunday….(brr!) which is rather too cold IMO for June… single figures FFS & its supposed to be summer!
maybe we should do some weather spells – it would be good if we could shift this to some place like in Asia where people are complaining it is too hot and burning the crops etc… or hopefully it will change tomorrow…
