people may say its inevitable eventually but i’m not so sure
the terrain is way different.
unless you lot manage to destroy some area of natural beauty, trash high value buildings or start a war with the local scallies, (which is what may have happened in manchester) most of Yorkshire is wild country and sheep country where raves cause a lot less damage than when they end up on prime arable farmland.
that said the same could be said for Wales and this area got rinsed and locked down too 😥
don’t pick all the same areas/same farms, don’t trash the place and make sure your parties aren’t being attended by scum (i.e those who do real crime such as violence/repeat burglaries of houses) and it hopefully shouldn’t be too on top.
anyone know where the party was held? i know it was down track 46/48 or something like that. and whos rig was out that night? unlucky for them 2 get shut down, i probably wont go to a party until the summer months, nice and warm ^ . ^
if u watch the news report they show the rig names on the bar sign.
its a shame as that is one of the crews who would actually have at least tried to clear up and hold the party a bit more responsibly…
what was the reason that it got closed down? public complaint? too much noise? a majority of the time the OB aren’t bothered as long as you aren’t disturbing others…………..but i think differently now.
probably a combination of complaints from Forestry Commission officers (they are government officers whose word is instantly accepted by the Police) and residents of Breckland (the district in which Thetford Forest is in )
half the time its not the rave which pisses people off but the convoys that are constantly doubling back and forth through feltwell, mundford, thetford etc trying to find the place
most other people in that area are asleep by midnight so its obvious what the extra vehicles in the area are up to…
Yeh this rig (well, half of it) has not had any trouble with the police before and they always clear up after their partys coz i have helped them before!
did the ob find the party or was there a convoy n the police followed them?
Ob probly already found out whre it was thye were jus waiting for every1 to get ther so they cud bust it and put it all over the news, the seemed pretty clued up bout where they wer goin n that, they did hav the police chopper tho so they cud find a party anywhere.

bahahaha
oh dear norfolk
i try to shy away from the whole “norfolk-bashing” as it seems a bit generalisation but cmon… how often does a county need to fuck up before it realises?
i doesnt happen anywhere else ffs.
It actually says in the news report that the cops simply watched the traffic flows through Breckland and then got the heli in the air.
Exactly the same way TVP dealt with the Storm/Surge lot on the Ridgeway a few years back.
this may also be simply because other areas got locked down a couple of years before bebo was invented.
The same things happened with certain free party crews around SE England (venues being rinsed, people being bait on the internet) around 2003-2005… (theres a fair few posts about it on here in our older threads!)
also a lot of the slightly older people (age 18 upwards!) are calming down / stopping partying due to the hassles or realising they have to watch what they say so its not surprising its only the kids making a noise..
naaah i wasnt meanin just that issue
i mean brains skan and stuff like that
stella box head and riots
trashed police cars
this pathetic “down wit babylon” i mean dont me wrong, i hate some shit of society as much as anyone, but it doesnt take much brains to realise that a confrontational “kill the pigs” attitude aint no way gonna change anythin
Mate the old bill would love it if people started fighting back. Perfect opportunity for em to smash ravers up! Lets just hope that never happens eh!:hopeless:
that also happened in South East England, around 2001-2003 or so – lots of people from those ends (including some of those who berate Norfolk ravers today) have been at raves where that sort of shit happened. Similar confrontations occured in Bristol/Wales on various occasions.
Riot squad on the scene, stuff being thrown at cops, people getting injured on both sides, police cars also getting trashed. Also a stupid amount of vandalism at indoor parties what also brought things on top (as the organisers would be arrested for the criminal damage).
The only reason this stopped and things calmed down is because loads of crews got busted and brought before Court, lots of rigs got confiscated and people eventually realised they could only take the piss so much… the remaining party people realised their limits (or were made to do so).
The young Norfolk ravers may be daft for repeating the same mistakes as other regions (and not realising that the cops were actually cutting them a lot of slack!), some (but not all) seem fairly naive about what they are getting into and many are being overly blatant but they are by no means the first to act stupidly.
Ironically around the time it was kicking off in SE England its possible East Anglia’s scene may have been relatively peaceful (certainly thats the impression the “old guard” like Biotech, Titch and Binge always gave me).
