Having been playing this game for a while I’ve often wondered how much of the “Norfolk” slating is because of genuine issues (which actually affect the whole of the UK) and how much is simply sour grapes (that Norfolk ravers had been getting away with it for so long compared to other regions) or gloating (because the feds aren’t clamping down in their area).
I started taking drugs at age 15, and TBH it hasn’t done me that much damage…
and on the subject of youthfullness, at their best Norfolk parties can be really good – at one I went to last year around my birthday – for a few moments I actually felt like I was in my teens/early 20s again, and no other recent event in other regions has made me feel like that (although I showed enough integrity/honesty not to lie about my age to those young girls from Thetford :laugh_at:)
That said, Jack_Daniels does make some very good points about the nature of those opposing parties in this area, and a Police budget is basically an endless pot of taxpayers money.
Yes it does cost loads to put up OI99 (helicopter) in the skies but a lot of locals in Breckland and South Norfolk actually feel its money well spent.
tbh i know i wouldnt be very happy if i/you lived in them villages and you get hundreds of cars driving up and down you house every weekend from 10pm til … many old people are in bed by 10 o clock and very light sleepers
um… people have been saying this all through 2006/7 too. i take it you dont read SJ?
look noone is dissin ur county as a whole, just when some crews are seriously fuckin things up and makin national news it doesnt do anyone any good.
???
meaning give it a few years and he will understand
to be fair i dont think that is a fair generalisation
a lot of young people are very clued up, the same as most older ravers are clued up – certain crews rinsin the areas in norfolk are actually relatively older crews!
also the age to drink and smoke is debatable. on your 18th birthday a light doesn’t just ping on and you go “holy shit, i can now drink responsibly!” as any night out in town will prove
Nicely put dude! 😉

tbh i was just using that as a example of time. He is only 16 in a couple of years time he might actually realise what is actually fucking up the scene.
Its young and old organisers not just the older lot who have different views from some new soundsystems, but dont you think a lot of up coming sound systems follow the same beliefs and copied them as such “fuck da babylon” every time they see old bill
this is one example of what i have seen but younger people rather that older lot
ex. 16 year olds bebo account.
massive illegal rave this weekend in same sort of area just got to meet up at … picnic area at 10 o clock
Too many rigs rinsing same sites = quickly pissed off locals = death of scene.
Its pretty simple.
let me guess the norfolk party got shut down again last night? 4th time in a row?
TBH I don’t think many of the larger crews are coming out any more, they have either already had their stacks taken or have decided not to take the risks.
maybe some new kids might try to be stubborn but they will just get pwned
that said a lot of the more bait bebo sites appear to be being “closed down” but I am concerned that bebo may be in fact archiving them and passing info to cops (they already have a policy of openly cooperating with OB when crime is suspected).
cops have reiterated their warnings as well (albeit this time offering to advise people on how to get licenses!)
people are more willing to do hall parties now, which is a good thing, but the police even wanna shut them down too.
Hall parties (which apparently had been going on OK for 20 years or more in East Anglia) are being clamped down on because some of the people doing them are giving false details, allowing damage to occur and breaking the hire/licensing conditions of the halls.
incidentally one crew actually tried going out last night and was soon busted (landowner called 999), 14 arrests and most for licensing/drug posession and supply.
Even what appears to be an attempt at a smaller private shindig in Suffolk was stopped.

It’s getting silly now! :hopeless:
