I guess it can be an accident…But :hopeless:
What the hell’s going on :crazy_diz
They have also described seeing two Aisan men, one of whom was on fire, who had been in the car.
The airport has been evacuated and all flights suspended following the incident.
One eyewitness said: “I heard the sound of a car’s wheels spinning and smoke smoke coming out.
“I saw a Jeep Cherokee apparently as if it was trying to get right through the doors into the terminal building.
“There were flames coming out from underneath then some men appeared from in amongst the flames.
“The police ran over and the people started fighting with the police. I then heard what sounded like an explosion.”
Not sure, am watching bbc news 24 just now.. seems to be a lot of different stories just now… guess we’ll have to wait and see…
think it could be a copy cat from the one that was found in London yesterday but even so its a wee bit too close to home for me
Definitely no accident. Been watching Sky news and BBC News 24, all eye witnesses are saying they crashed the car, then before they were arrested, the driver was pouring petrol onto the flames, car and himself.
Likewise thats what i’ve been watching as well mate… its a bit worrying but i don’t think its been a well organised thing if you know what i mean.
I think its been a copycat of the london thing judging by the talking of petrol and gas canister sounds like what the police described in the vehicle found there.

yep, unlike the London attacks it hasn’t as yet even been treated as a UK national emergency, although Alex Salmond (Scotland’s First Minister) has activated the local (Scottish) emergency procedures..
Of course it hasn’t been treated as a UK national emergency.. it’s happened in Scotland.. sorry but that’s the way i feel about things like this sometimes.. it hasn’t effected London therefore its not a national emergency..
Now the Met Police have confirmed a “non suspicious” car fire at heathrow airport and a suspect package has been destroyed in a controlled explosion at Ibiza Airport as well..
I read that they have begun extra security checks on travelers in US because of it..
Well national security scare or not it’s pretty crazy being this close to it – guess it shows that not only London is at risk.
What kind of society we livin in?
Thankfully nobody hurt except the dude who set himself on fire – he’s in a really bad way.
Whatever next?
The thing is that i’ve never doubted that Scotland would be targeted at somepoint.. why just target London?? Glasgow is a large city and a very busy international airport..
The thing with this is that as it looks like it was just a small thing meaning not necessarily connected to and al-queda cell but still for the same reasons they police probably won’t get much intelligence out of it.
I found out about it coz my sis still lives in Glasgow and called me and told me to put on BBC news 24.
I think that all airports will be on high alert now it makes sense really, the only thing that i have found strange is that Prestwick Airport seems to be running as normal and yet they are still a fairly busy airport especially at this time of year..and you have easy access to the front of the building there by vehicle
There have been some other casualties but nothing serious.. think more people in shock and some with minor smoke inhalation.
not just scotland either, it feels as though northern cities in particular (manchester for example) are not important, london is the be all and end all of the UK to some people :you_crazy
i think Strathclyde police are due to make another statement this evening but here are the two earlier ones:
Statement issued at 1645 (BST): At 1515 hours this afternoon, Saturday 30 June 2007, a car was driven into the front of Terminal One at Glasgow International Airport.
Police and Fire Service were immediately summoned and four people arrested and detained meantime.
It is unclear if any person has been injured.
Local roads have been closed and police are advising members of the public not to travel to the airport.
Incoming and outgoing flights have been suspended until further notice and the airport has been closed.
Strathclyde Police would like to reassure the public that it is unknown at present if this is connected with the incidents in London as enquiries are at an early stage.
However, we would ask the public to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious activity to the police.

Too close for me more like is only about 15 mins if that down the road….. Prestwick is continually open as it will have more security seeing as alot of the Military use it!
The hospital in Paisley has shut too!!
Gordon Brown has now had a further Cabinet Office meeting (with a videoconference link to Scotland this time) and the latest UK security threat level has been raised to “critical” (the highest level on the scale released to normal civilians).
