The 1 thing i dont understans is the accelerated culture areana has not got a licence to stay open 24 hours and all the others have
whats this all about ??
I’m sure I’m gonna have a good time!!!! Nice to hear it was one of the worst places you’ve been!! I’m lookin forward to it and nothing will ever reach the worst night of my life (new years eve at millenium dome!) :cyclop_1:
the music is probably good – its just the commercialisation and the restrictions of licensed festivals which some people, understandably, find less attractive than a real free party.
as for the D&B tent being shut down earlier thats a proper shame, but if people who like this music can’t check themselves and insist on behaving like violent scum whilst guests at festivals in other countries hardly surprising festival organisers here also get jittery?
this report from the BBC….. (although its an edited version of a Warwickshire cops pressrel, including incorrect spelling!).
note the cop claiming that being caught on site (which would be mere posession out in the street) apparently would be an intent to supply charge (TBH I think this is done to justify refusing bail, as those attending would often be from some distance away and may not return if bailed)
Drugs warning before dance event
Police are warning people going to the Global Gathering event in Warwickshire that drug use will not be tolerated. About 40,000 revellers are expected to attend the dance festival at Long Marston airfield over the weekend.
Visitors will be given the chance to dump any illegal substances in amnesty bins before entering the venue, which will be patrolled by sniffer dogs.
Anyone caught trying to sneak drugs into the event, or found with drugs once inside, faces ejection and arrest.
Two overdoses
Each person arriving at the airfield will be handed information leaflets about drug searches and security advice.
Supt Paul Mason Brown said officers would charge anybody suspected of being in possession of illegal drugs with intent to supply.
At last year’s event six people were arrested, some of them for supplying drugs, including Class A, while 67 people were cautioned for possession.
Eight people were treated at Warwick hospital, including two for suspected drug overdoes and two for leg fractures, following falls and others for heat-related conditions.
