Anyone know of any good software for capturing all or part of the screen. I know there’s always alt+prt sc but I can’t be arsed with the bits that you have to do after it, think I also used screenhunter in the past but if you fellas have an app you think fits the bill please let me know.
Doesn’t have to be free cos I’ll steal it anyway but it would be nice if it was portable but again d, I can sort that myself if needs be 🙂
Thanks
Greenshot does the job pretty well.
Greenshot – a free and open source screenshot tool for productivity
Thanks very much for your response Dr B, it’s much appreciated and I will give it a go shortly 🙂
Snipping tool is built into microsoft, just hit your start button, type “snip” and hit enter. Drag the square around the bit you want. I use it almost on the daily
Not familiar with that and tbh screenshots are a rare thing for me to need. My memories of using the print screen feature then required an image editor to do anythign with the captures you’d saved.
I imagine things have improved and changed but I have 1 niggling issue. Fuck microsoft and fuck their shitty apps
Well I just don’t believe in going searching for software that is already sitting on your OS. Snipping tool takes a screenshot of just what you make it take a shot of.
For the most part, I agree in the “Fuck microsoft” mentality. If it wasn’t the only operating system most computer games worked on, I’d be on Linux right now.
I agree that looking for software that only provides functionality that’s already built in is a bit stupid but the tools offered by microsoft just don’t compare well to most other available options.
eh. Snipping tool does exactly what you asked for and requires no editing after is why I suggested it. xD
