I did wonder but was surprised to find it today at such a high rank (I was simply trying to get Google UK when looking for a clapperboard as this Firefox search bar somehow thinks its American and goes to the Yank site). I suspect it has a “serious” purpose (and slightly cynical one) – folk download it, laugh at the joke but the joke is on them – all their google searches/ads (unless blocked) turn up for pet food etc…

That happened to my mates google, somehow it had auto changed to american location and everything we were searching for (we were trying to buy a soundcard iirc) was coming up in dollers and we had to convert it into pounds for every iteam we looked at lol.
