whats your thoughts about the new PM?
i gotta admit i don’t know much about the geezer, but from what i’ve heard he’s more left-wing and has picked a very liberal cabinet, this has gotta be a good thing rite?
who knows, maybe he will revoke some of the “anti-terrorism” laws that are restrictin us and even try and calm the surveillance society somewhat, but i doubt it…
The way i see it we got a PM we didn’t elect…
Did we ever?
Suppose someones got to do it (run the country), they all look and act the same to me, eventually corruption leaks in and they get chewed up and spat out.
yeah but we never get a PM we elect
we elect which party to be in power and they choose the PM i thought? and to be fair, as far as it goes we did elect Labour
better than blair tho i reckon
I heard the culture secretary (name forgotten) is only 37. He’s the one who pushed through the round the clock drinking laws:weee: :weee: . you never know, he might do something for us…Legalise ecstasy and weed would be a good start
there should of been an election … end of in my view. i dont no much about him or politics but to be honest i think its stupid a bloke can by default be given the captains seat … its like smee being given hooks role because he finally got eaten by the tick-tocking asbo’a clocking croc … complete rubbarsh 🙂
we elect which party to be in power and they choose the PM
This is right
IMO politics and politicians are an inbred bunch of assfuckers all parties and persuasions. all went to same Schools, Unis etc. They make the decisions like the CJB and other shit, affect all of us. Blair would have seemed ok if he had not decided to stick his oar in with middle east. It will be interesting how things pan out over next couple of years. Don’t want to scaremonger, but I’m worried.
well he may yet call a general election… but tbh, we never have voted for the PM, only the party, so it’s not as if we’ve been given something unjust in accordance to our democracy
i dont think brown is an idiot, he seems a really clever guy, and i am optomistic about him tbh. then again i suppose i aint been screwed over by as many politicians as others on this site
but i dont hold the view of “all politicians are dishonest arseholes” – look at mandela, or, in the UK case, tony benn – what a legend
in the UK case, tony benn – what a legend
There have been a few, but most of them end up resigning over their parties extreme policies. There was a big cull after the Iraq thing in Labour with robin cook, claire short etc. Now all you got left are the Blairites and Brownites(weird expression). All the others get exposed over some sleaze allegation or other.(nobodys perfect), but this how it has always worked.
he supported bliar by bankrolling the iraq war. to me, that outweighs anything positive he may have done as a politician
also his economic policies have lead to the highest levels of consumer debt ever and a situation where a majority of young people will never own their own home
texture like sun…
Brown doesn’t have to be very good, to be better than Blair. Blair was a salesman, which Brown certainly ain’t…
I’m quietely optimistic, really. This is the former chancellor who gave away one of his primary economic levers, his power over interest rates, on his first day in office.
Time will tell…
