East Anglia is a huge place (look on a map, it is one of the largest regions of England) and not all areas are the same.
Apart from the obvious tactical mistake of using a warehouse that was owned and active, Yarmouth is somewhat like “Basra-on-Sea” [1] and has a large proportion of angry young males, many of them addicted to class A substances who are liable to kick off at any moment anyway.
Also, because of the sudden escalation of the incident, the cops present would also have been made up of a fair quantity of specials, these are also mostly “along for the action” (why else do a job for fuck all?!)
About 30-50+ raves happen in this region each season and only 3 or 4 of them end in such a manner.
