My college told me that they may give me a hair test anytime during the next year or so.

In a hair test, do they only test for one substance at a time? (The doctor asked what they were testing for, and filled in ‘cannabis’ on the form)

I have had mdma in recent weeks, and have been exposed to cannabis smoke.

any thing you take througout you life gets “documented” in your hair … if you took acid ten years ago and you haven’t cut your hair in ten years .. then there will be traces that can show you took it …. if you have no head hair then they will take hair from another part of your body…skinhead and full body wax is the only way to make dam sure you don’t get caught .. this encludes eye brows bum hair … the full works:yakk:

Daft is right. You are going to have to shave everything off if you wanna pass the hair test.

what reasons do the college give for requiring this?

perhaps you might be planning to work for TfL or Network Rail so I can understand if its the safety régime (even if I don’t agree with it 100%, in fact its what stopped me wanting to once work there as a lad) but if they are going that far (this sort of test is expensive and takes budgets away from educating people which is what college is supposed to do) it really is a ultimatum from your college/employer

they are saying “quit drugs or find another course/career”

Length of hair doesn’t stop them.
It’s either none, or you don’t get in I’m afraid

And even if you go in with a literally bald body they may do another test.

you may be in your rights to refuse.. always ask if it’s compulsory and what happens if you refuse

yep .. if it is compulsory and you have a shaved head .. they will try and find hair some where else … you only hope is telling them that your a semi-pro swimer and you need to be totaly bauld to swim faster 😉

Some cyclists shave like that too btw – my ex flatmate was an obsessive cyclist and he shaved all over [to help him move faster apparently] looked right itchy to me :laugh_at:

can you not find another college, and keep your hair? if you want to learn something, its not prudent to be taught by idiots…

let me tell my story in a little more depth.

i go to a certain school (and this isn’t to brag, just to illustrate my point) which is among the highest in the league tables.
last year my grades had slipped, and i was getting in trouble and stuff. the school asked me if i had ever done drugs, and to be honest, because there would be a (hair) test. i told the truth, that i had messed around with cannabis a little, but nothing serious.
nonetheless, the test went ahead, and to this day i have never received the results. fortunately, at that particular time, i had not done weed for quite some time, and so i suspect i passed the test.

they told me that i would be subject to another hair test in the future, and that i would not have any lengthy warning beforehand.

i endured last summer completely drug free, which was frustrating because it was the summer after my GCSEs (which i did quite well in.)

During the christmas holidays i began doing a little bit of mdma.

I am now going clean until next summer, and i’m hoping i dont get tested in the very immidiate future.

I am going to get a shorter hair cut, just to give myself a fresh start.

I may invest in a bottle of zydot, or toxin wash or something like that (any reccomendations?)

You could always shave your entire body hair off and say you have alopecia. :weee:

There is nothing you can take that fools drug tests in any way, it doesn’t exist.

Sorry mate, if the test can read it there’s a good chance they’ll find out.

You have to do what the man says if you want to stay where you are.
