I wouldn’t be too harsh on the lad, in the area where he lives, our generation pretty much destroyed the scene due to their excesses in the 1990s

if he doesn’t have a car, or friends who drive or contacts in Suffolk or Norfolk he will find it extremely hard to find any sort of decent electronic dance music event..

Essex paid dearly for being a “pioneer area” of the rave scene 😥

yeah fair play, just found it funny asking what sort of music would be played and whether he’d be able to buy rugs there. If he’s that green id probably suggest staying away from a massive squat party in london as he’s likely to get nicked/robbed/skanked or worse.

I did put a few subtle security warnings but TBH you would be just as likely to get jacked in Mid or North Essex these days as in “Londonistan”.

Places like Colchester and Stanway are now full of wannabe rude boys, it was beef between them and London crew what led to a Ipswich nightclub being shot up (around the same time the prostitutes started being killed) and led to a clampdown on nightlife in what still exists to this day…

another thing is that there do appear to be sporadic legal dance music events in Mid Essex using TENS licensing. Some of them sound like they are quite good.

However I expect the feds only hand over the license very grudgingly and people are quite rightly wary of stitch ups from CID, so they discourage those attending from being too open about purchasing and consuming drugs at these events. Hence why a younger person from those ends would not be used to such blatant activity at somewhere like a squat party!

It is my little sisters birthday saturday who lives in Oxford, Got to go out for a meal with the family and my girlfriend on Oxford Saturday night, then at 11pm going to drive alone to London, party my ass of and then drive back to Oxford in the morning like nothing ever happened.raaa
