but TBH happy slapping isn’t really a joke; its a form of low-level intimidation and gang activity which started out in South London.
The idea is to show that the people doing such acts “run the streets” and can do what they want to members of the general public. Other videos often show rival gangs being beaten (apparently gang fights between grime crews are filmed and circulated on DVD!)
Not at all dissimilar to the paramilitary groups who parade their prisoners / hostages on video…
