And that IS the way to start an argument. Not needed mate 😉 There is always a better way to solve problems…
guilt is a bastard
what is the difference between guilt and shame?
from wiki:
Shame vs. guilt
There is no standard distinction between shame and guilt. The cultural anthropologist Ruth Benedict describes shame as a violation of cultural or social values while feelings of guilt arise from violations of internal values. It is possible to feel ashamed of thought or behavior that no one knows about as well as feeling guilty about actions that gain the approval of others. However, in Facing Shame, therapists Fossum and Mason state “While guilt is a painful feeling of regret and responsibility for one’s actions, shame is a painful feeling about oneself as a person.” Shame is needed to establish limits, in childhood, since young children are unable to associate cause and effect by themselves. However, as children become better able to judge their own actions, guilt becomes the conscience former. Although, in general, guilt guides adult consciences, intrinsic shame is often present in adults too.

shame is like that time all ur mates found out u put ur nob in the video player
guilt is like that time u snatched that little girl n hid her in a bed
I believe everybody feels guilt to some degree … just think we all have ways of expressing/dealing with it …
as for me … yes i feel guilt quite often … just today i felt guilty because i took my 3 year old sisters mini eggs …
?
no need for that on the forum mate 😉
guilt is like that time u snatched that little girl n hid her in a bed
hahahahaha
its a real shame we dont have video players anymore :hopeless:
I think guilt is something you feel about something you have done that is not so great….that no one knows about…
Shame is the feeling you feel when someone finds out….
First one thing then the other. Why so rude Jonny ?
JulesDogg, although you might be right, it does actually make you look like a bit of a cock to point something out like that, knowing it could potentially humiliate them, or embarrass them. Or just make them look stupid. If you really wanted to make a point of it, you could be more tactful and wrapped it in a less insulting context…
Simply pointed out that psychosis and being a ‘psychopath’ are not the same thing. The two conditions are very, very different. If someone cannot be corrected on a trivial matter then more is the pity. If you think that warrants calling me a ‘cock’ then that is you opinion and you’re welcome to it, tad rude though. I’m sure Glo could of had a word if he/she felt like it, but it’s you decided to have a go instead. Whatever!
A least I am not alone in thinking that it’s a bit off to be so rude on a public forum. Is there any need? I feel like I am being stalked by Mr Quest who sends me unsolicited PMs stressing that he is not deliberately trying to annoy me, quotes all me posts simply to disagree with anything I ever say and then posts that I am ‘a fucking dick’. This schizophrenic wierd shit is utterly bizarre. I am now sat here feeling a queasy mix of mild affront at being called rude words and total hilarity at how ridiculous this seems.
first thing, why the hell would u even say that it jsut makes u seem like a complete and utter dick
second thing, psychotic works perfectly well in that sentence
POT KETTLE BLACK
Please attack the statements and not the person.
If you wish to indulge in flamewars PM me and I will tell you where to go and be awed by the experts :laugh_at:
OK, either you don’t understand me, or your specifically chose to ignore the point of my post, but your defense seems to be defending against the wrong thing. I said you were right, and Glo had got the words mixed up. but my point was that you telling him this, was rude in itself, and you made yourself out to look like you knew better. Even if this wasn’t your intention, you should have known how It would look, and I dont think anyone would post something that could be easily perceived in a different way, and have themselves judged accordingly.
Again, I dont want an argument, this civilised chat as It is now Is fine. I can tell your not daft, but what I dont understand Is why you would post something like that knowing how It might look to others. Yes I know, there’s freedom of speech and all that, but you know well enough the point Im making.
Oh, and although Glo can post himself, It doesn’t mean I cant. Im not posting in his defense (although I do rekon he’s a good fella, from what I read) Im defending the principle.
Also btw, I love how this forum’s mods leave these sort of debates to carry on. I used to use a forum that was censored to fuck, it was almost communist like propaganda. The minute something turned slightly sour, all posts were deleted, and anything mentioning them was gone. Including posts trying to discuss the “sourness”. In the end the owner went well over the top, and ended up banning people left right and center, and It left, loosing himself the forums top posters.
Anyway, what was this thread about again :laugh_at:
As I read this over, it does look a tad aggressive, but these are purely debate points only, nothing personal. ;D
