not singling out your “friend” personally, but on a wider scale that might be the exact reason why there is a drought of good quality gear in the first place…
although feds are a big problem they were even harsher back in the day – I remember (in 1992) my mate bricking it after he got caught with no more than four pills as they were going for a supply charge and he thought he was going to prison for sure… it got bargained down to a £250 fine and probation but in other regions there was incidents of uni students being sentenced for five pills and getting a 3 year actual jail sentence – bloke got expelled from uni as well and it fucked up his life permanently (in SE England only 33% of employers will employ someone who has done a prison sentence) – even his mum what didn’t agree with drugs said to reporters it was unjust as the whole family gets punished as well for one persons minor “crime”
but even then with all these risks people were more likely to share. stuff was expensive so people would have to split the costs, but good pills and other stuff always got distributed…
