he’s from round my way and although I’ve not met him I’ve been raving with some of the younger lot during the better times (only 3 years ago!) and TBH I don’t think he’s bullshitting or misinforming anyone.
People had fuckloads of good MDMA until about 2008 or so and they really were doing 250mg or more lines/bombs. Youths younger than yourself, some as young as 15-16. I’ve seen all of this with my own eyes.
unsurprisingly at least some of the folk ended up in hospital by Sunday.
The bulk of them recovered physically at least but its also why a lot of EA youth are permanently miserable and burned out by their 20s (which is what drives a load to ketamine) and why there is a zero tolerance policy in this region, the cops now get told how many problematic party drugs users there are by the NHS and this shapes enforcement policy.
bear in mind although MDMA is relatively safe physically and doing even large amounts rarely kills anyone what gets them in the end is the midweek comedowns, depression, and the paranoia that doing excessive amounts of drugs causes.
Especially when it has knock on effects leading to family / relationship troubles / domestic violence. I am aware of a fair bit of this going on since the 1990s, its a side of the party drugs culture people try to sweep under the carpet.
