:group_hug
hey
sorry for your loss gal, hope you are keeping well x
i also lost someone fairly recently, and these are some of the hardest moments… i hope you can find peace at this time. if you don’t like or have interest in what i am about to write, i hope this doesn’t irritate you. i know these are delicate moments…
this is a video of a guy i really like called eckhart tolle. its taken from the middle of a live session, so the audience are already aware of him and his teachings and the ‘terms’ he uses, and so ‘going straight in’ to this is a bit like starting to watch a film from the middle. after the start it gets a bit ‘wordy’ for an introduction but then at 4.37 there are nice moments.
so for me, a lot of what i feel is inspired by eckhart and in my own life i found a lot of peace through him…
so in answer to your question; i feel that there’s more to this strange place that meets the eye and for me it feels like that’s not just naive optimism, it feels like logic and reasoning of the soul. the physical world is the only tangible ‘thing’ that we have, but that doesn’t mean that it is the only thing. there are so many oddities that we just have to accept without understanding the parameters they exist within, just like a fish in a fish tank may not know what exists outside your front door, doesn’t mean that space doesn’t exist… just that in our case the parameters of our fish tank may exceed space and time,… but just because we can’t physically see further, doesn’t mean that space doesn’t exist or that there isn’t more… i feel like we are bound to live with uncertainty but it is possible to feel truth inside you, we know when something hits the right chord within us and i feel like this comes from the soul which is separate from the physical world; it is the ‘you’ness and has nothing to do with your physical body except that they temporarily share the same space and time. ‘heaven’ as our manmade construct sounds quite dull to me… too perfect… all yang and no yin… much more exciting would be a place of freewill – good or bad, and a limited time to do whatever with a limited knowledge of existence… that would be my ‘heaven,’ and although it seems sad, i suppose ‘death’ is a necessary part of this balance. the thought of ‘heaven’ as it has been taught to us leaves me with a sad feeling. its a bit like the thought of santa and is too cold, simple and complete. for me uncertainty seems like a necessary part of the experience of ‘life’ just as ‘death’ is necessary also although in its immediacy – very hard to accept or comprehend. accepting uncertainty and feeling ‘truths’ is where i have found some peace in my soul… and i feel like even if our ideas/beliefs of ‘what is’ are actually incorrect, love is a constant and peace comes through this… and regardless of whether we are/were right or wrong, the power of love is the same. love is the key
so that was a very long way to say; no i don’t necessarily ‘believe’ in heaven; the manmade concept, this is not something i feel i can know about, but i do feel that the essence of your grandparents and all of us is not something that can be affected by the physical world: “nothing real can be threatened. nothing unreal exists.”
thats how i feel anyhow :shy:
xxx
Thanks everyone, cant really top last post know_hope, away 2 watch the link now finish my phets…..
Hey Haraswatch,
I can imagine some of what you are going through, I lost my aunt a few months ago and it totally devestated me – to the point I was teary in the pub last night
I dont believe in heaven, I believe when your dead your dead personally but I think if it helps for people to believe in heaven then thats ok
I think when we die we become immortal. Our internal energy returns to the initial state and leaves our human form.
