if its a straight URL filters it can act strangely sometimes, banning some things and not others. This is because of the way forums code URLs which is different for each forum and piece of software.
some employers actually run a second filter which actually scans the forum and your responses.
I once worked in a place which let me access this forum but if I wrote “fuck” more than about 5 times it wouldn’t let me back in the thread saying it was “offensive material” (I could of course still access the thread from home)
the software was smart enough however to let through “scientific/scholarly” discussions of sex and reproduction (my then employers looked after animal health and welfare so they had to permit this).
in this job however I have control over all the filters and security software and can choose which machines are on filter and which ones aren’t :groucho:
