Although its also shown in the videos with an old British telephone (I called my mum and aunt on this “mobile” phone, and they said the sound quality was better than the more modern Android phone I normally used), I thought that Angel and Sinner especially might be interested in this bit of Scandinavian technology. It doesn’t have lots of flashy displays and although I found a manual it wasn’t so easy to configure (you have to dial **####**, the device PIN and some other numbers but they don’t explain the the SIT tone (3 rising tone) means the config mode is successful (as its normally associated with a misdialled or faulty connection), and you only have about 5 seconds to enter the other commands (you get a short pip if they are correct).
At least I only had to make the clear signal time longer so the other equipment recognises it, and this kit wasn’t previously used as isn’t good enough for longer outside phone lines. when configured you just fix it to the wall and leave it there and it stays working. It is now in a far corner of my studio/workshop by the window and well away from any audio equipment; GSM is noisy and can make some bad interference to this if the device is too close by and analogue audio mixers are particularly prone to receiving this noise)
Hopefully it will behave well enough to stay in this location, I don’t want it in my bedroom as I then have to run a further cable to it and the noise will get into my analogue radios…
