I found the reuseable straws to be a bit more hard wearing and softer on the nose, when i used a Maccy D’s straw i could give myself a nose bleed :hopeless:

Sorry to pull up an old thread, but it is an important one, so Im sure you’ll let me off 😉

I never knew this could be passed on by sharing tubes ect. Well, I know that infecting your own blood with someones blood who has a disease can give you it too, but never thought of the small traces that could be shared from this.

Ive got a few mates who cane too much powder and get nose bleeds from time to time when snorting, had one or two myself. However I never thought that later on in the night that a small trace could be still in their nose while we were racking up again…

I will definitely pass this advice on.

Btw – Receipts are always good, I always have them lying around in the car.

We could just make a paper flyer about the dangers of sharing tubes, give to to everyone, and bam, everyone has the own personal snorting tube. :weee:

The Hep C Virus is passed on via blood to blood transmition and not by touch, saliva, toilet seats, kissing whatever. There has to be blood involved – so snorting, sharing injecting equipment, dirty tattoo equipment, unsafe sexual practices and a blood transfusion before they screened for the disease.

Unlike AIDS or HIV, Hepatitis C can stay out of the body for long periods of time and so transmition via this route could happen. It is rarely passed on by sexual intercourse, but then again its down to wether or not unsafe sexual practices are used (Sex during menstration, anal – or anything involving blood).

Like Agent Subby says and I’ll paraphrase, its down to common sense.

BTW – the combination therapy is working and I should clear the virus within the next 6 months and hopefully 2 years later there should still be no trace.

    raaa

tahts a damnd good point mate never thought of/heard of that befor!!round of applause for posting that as i said thats an extreemly good point.

I but there are loads of people out there whoo have court hep c this way or even worse hiv/aids (even tho aids dies within 7 seconds of leaving the body but hepatitis will live for up to 3 months!) so deffo bere this 1 in mind..

    Well dun Ell

jesus just read this and its a bit of a wake up. sorry to hear aswell

Marks and Spencers receipts work better than any other supermarket ones.

Flyers are also good for this.

It’s a very good and important point though that this thread has raised.

People would, thankfully, be hesitant to share a needle if IVing, yet people will casually share a snorting straw and not even think about it.
