I used heroin at first for 4-5 years not everyday, just 1-3 times a week abv,
My main addiction was to booze, I used to get terrible W.D’s from booze, I’d see shit if I had no drink, it felt as if I been given vast amounts of speed, coke, any stimulant, my heart was racing around 200 beats per min until I drunk my booze WDs away…The people I was around where using gear, I smoked it pissed, then sober during booze WD and found it so helpful to chill my booze WD’s.
I used gear not everyday, for a few years, I managed uni too, Anyway down the line, literately.. I got more involved in the Heroin scene, meeting new people, I was a soft touch too, they could see this, Also After all these years No body wants to be addicted, but you get cocky, once you’ve lost respect to heroin or any drug, its got you.
People where turning up at mine to smoke gear, I couldn’t run my own lines, so always had people about. Then one day after a few weeks of using everyday, I woke up & I was addicted! I was ill but thought this is a cake walk compared to booze WD’s, i thought its only like a heavy flu for 4-6 days, But though sod it, I’m enjoying it, (while high) felt wonderfully relaxed, all my demons from my past childhood would go, It was the perfect drug.
The booze was causing much more damage than this, So my drinking stopped I’m greatful it helped me stop the piss, Drinking liters of white cider every day morning to night must of been fucking me up bad, I’m not sure I’d be about, living still if I continued to drink like i did..
I could fund my smack habit with my artwork and dealers i knew well would only tick me…
The most addictive thing about heroin are the other people you meet and get to know, some are nice people that had shit all there lives by the hand of adults, while others prey on your good will and are C*nts.
I did get clean a few times cold turkey, but the same people would call, you’d use any excuse to use, “A treat” is a good one.
But I knew It was the people using and hanging on to me all the time for free hits, I wouldn’t see anyone cluck.
A few years down the line I got into injecting with my brother, heroin is very pleasurable, but that was next level, better than any sex or anything you can think of, also it was cheaper, than wasting half your shit smoking it.
Finally to get clean proper I had to stop people calling, Knocking my door 7am before my first hit, etc, I just ignored them all, Ironical If I was nicked for shop lifting, I’d be fast tracked on to methadone, I didn’t want charges for theft on my record, so had to wait 9 months to get on a methadone program.
Ive been clean for6 years, still on methadone though, at a high dose so heroin don’t effect me if I was to Take it. I’ve had a few 1-2 day blips here and there. But getting on with life and work.
The methadone is OK keeps me from craving, I’ll come off when I’m ready.
I just think criminalising people that chose to use any drug/s is completely fuck up, many are self medicating for different reasons, people have used opuim and other drugs for 10’s of thousands of years, its our very nature, we’re programmed, too with our minds.. we like to explore both in person and in mind drugs open that for us. to help us answer questions about ourselves also to get help from dark fucked up lives etc.
Diamorphine, ( which isn’t really toxic to your body in the correct doses, its the result of it being illegal that’s causes the problems and deaths esp when mixed with benzos) we should be help to addicts seeking help, not locking and jailing us up, destroying our minds and soul, much worse than drug.
why should one medically known drug be illegal, even if it grows naturally, than another which kills 100.000’s each year, to be sold perfectly fine in shops, supermarkets.!.
As with all drugs, If your new to heroin, please regard it with the utter most respect or it will bite you harder than a pitbull and not let go!
beware with making contacts too, most addictions to drugs is caused from getting friendly with other users, then fallen into that scene.
Personally I’d love to grow poppy’s, and use mu own opium to relax with.
