The old forum was fun and banter, but people who asking questions about sex got their heads ripped off by the regulars and often made fun of, being accused about being trolls.
The old forum wasn’t always that great, all the banter made me leave for a while, because it sometimes felt like a kindergarden, and a lot of regulars who were there 4 – 5 years ago left because of it. So the changes have always been there and people are always leaving, some because they get pissed of by the way it’s run and others because they got families, jobs, getting addicted or just getting a life outside the internet.
And things will be different again in 4 – 5 years if the forum is still here.
what also happened is that because fewer people subscribed or donated; all the forums had to take various adverts.
Many advertisers understandably don’t want their brands to be too close associated with sex and drugs (especially mobile phone companies in the UK as particularly pre-paid mobile phones got associated with drug dealers, sex workers and other petty cirminals); there has also been a hardening of attitudes across the EU about how much of this content younger teenagers should be exposed to; especially when using a mobile device away from their parents supervision.
In some countries the Communications Ministry, mobile phone companies as well as parents groups and politicians have come to an agreement that some mobile SIMS where the end user has not supplied age ID cannot access this site but can get to the sites discussing the radio, stuff about sound equipment and computers or going to raves (you can attend a rave at age 16 in many countries).
So the site had to be split or younger people would miss out on the music / radio access.
At the same time other countries which were a lot stricter about what young people could do online or in real life have loosened up; most likely only because there are wars starting and bad stuff like crashed passenger aircraft; which means all the feds/spies have more important things to watch for than small time drug use or the indiscretions of middle class youth; provided not too many people are getting hurt; hence why random desparate folk from various countries aren’t frightened to post stuff about their drugs use and sexual preferences.
When this site was most “popular” was the exact same time the UK had just dealt with a animal disease crisis, followed by war and terrorism in USA and then in London; at the same time the cops were completely overstretched and had outdated communications equipment making illegal raves relatively easy to put on; as they could not stop them easily once they had started. We even had a page of valid party line numbers and could put up posts hinting at what region the party was in without the cops bothering us too much; occasionally cops posted warning folk not to advertise the raves ones on here (they would use certain ways of letting the mods/admins know they were real police officers and not trolls/jokers).
