if a 17 year old girl can’t find them in Oxon then there can’t be that many happening, just a few years ago she’d have about 10 “mates with cars” offering her lifts to them. when I lived in the area the usual way to find out where the parties were was “ask a 17 year old girl” :laugh_at:

seriously though we can’t give out the numbers as not everyone lives in the same place (many folk on here aren’t even in the UK these days), the numbers change and we also don’t know if you really are a 17 year old girl, or a 25 year old female detective or journalist who will then use the numbers to get people busted

There are however legal events in the area that an old free party crew are hosting, I’m sure attending one of these would be fruitful. realistically though whilst they still happen there are way less free parties than before or what your older friends, siblings or even parents may have told you or even this site may have led you to believe, as the Police surveillance and enforcement tactics are more effective since 2005 due to technical improvements. yes they did use to put whole partyline numbers on this site years ago but if you were going raves at that age CEOP would defo have closed us down!

One was just held this weekend outside Reading. Look for OOOPS! on our parties forum. I am not sure how often Dan holds them, whether its every month or less frequently. when they do happen they are advertised here.

I was a DJ for this crew back in the day, they became good friends over the years. Unfortunately work meant I had to leave SE England and am now the other side of the country but these are good people putting these events on with roots in the free party scene.

From the reports given these events had all the fun of a free party with the added safety and security of something being licensed (i.e you don’t need to worry about spending loads of time/money getting there to see the event closed down, you or your friends getting into trouble or any other problems associated with illegal raves).

we had not just TVP but even foreign coppers all over this site when you were in junior school. so its not possibly any more to openly advertise what is an illegal activity, same as we can’t sell drugs on here or various other things.

Also its not easy to put on a legal event as the cops want assurances licensing conditions are adhered to and if you try and bend the rules your event gets its license refused. Even putting a post on here at the wrong time can make Councils paranoid there are more people than your security can handle and the event is stopped.

So its not an easy thing to do.

There were also more regular events in the Reading town venues for dance music that K32’s lot were doing – they don’t always get advertised on big international sites like this as doing so can be more trouble than its worth.
