Im glad that whe in the Netherlands dont have this Problem. I have hearing this from an friend from England that was in the Netherlands for Holidays. I was Shocked when i hearing this.
if people in England get their drugs from good sources they do not get contaminated pills.
your country and the drugs culture there encourages users to test the pills more, so dealers would find bad pills are hard to sell (perhaps they end up over here!).
Set and setting is important too.
Your friend was enjoying their holiday, and what was probably a fun environment at a rave or club with less anger and paranoia, so might not have been so critical about quality of pills.
All that said, I have also read about contaminated pills in NL, with the same bad stuff we get here) I am learning Dutch at the moment so try to read a bit of Dutch news every day…)

I dont have this Problem at all about Bad Pills here in mine region, Maybe it is that i know the right Person that Make the: and he is an good Friend of me. But it is always better to Test them first. I always say that to Persons also. When mine Friend from England been Testing it he says yea right that this one is good, after Testing it he was Surprised that he have this Feeling again after so long. But you are right about there are Bad Pills in the Netherlands also. Thats why if you know the right Peoples you are Lucky.
It’s getting better in the UK, people just need to realise that if you get offered pills at 3 or 4 for a tenner they are most likely going to be piperazine (fake) pills. The price of good beans is between 5 and 10 quid each.
also helps when they come from slightly older people who genuinely enjoy raves/music and don’t use drug dealing as their main income source both for security reasons and peace of mind, as opposed to wannabe plastic gangsters…
Some of the youngsters have been doing these crap pills and thinking they are the real thing, testing and education is the way forward.
I agree – another thing what confuses many is the crap atmosphere at many of todays raves, they don’t expect to be totally happy and loved up (some even think its “gay” to be in that state :you_crazy), just on edge and angry.
For instance I used to go to the Carribean Club raves in Ipswich and they could be really good but there was always that undercurrent of anger, jealousy and a a fair few fights and stuff getting robbed – I also saw that at outdoor raves too since about 2005 (both in SE England where I then lived and round here in EA since 2006) then there’s all this fuckery like a friend of mine spending hours building 6 1850s only to have them robbed by some other so-called ravers who stalked our local crew to their lockup
although the 90s/early 2000s scene wasn’t perfect, but there was definitely less of this. Also a bit more empathy with others, for instance people cleared up after a rave not because they were frightened of feds locking it off/seizing their rig but they genuinely didn’t want to fuck up the beautiful surroundings they had been partying in…
Back in the 90s it seemed friendlier, funny you say 2005 as that was when the fake pills started to appear on the scene, one thing I have noticed is the use of ket has really took over from exstacy, I never heard of anyone doing ket in the 90s. Seems now the kids just want to get completely ducked to the state they are a unable to walk. I go to a rave to dance and hear the music not be in a k hole on the floor.
I partied from 94 to 02ish and have started again quite recently and so much has changed in the time from then till now . I hope ecstasy makes a comeback in a big way and the parties become happy smiley places once more.

ket was used in the 90s (I lived in Reading, SE ENgland then) but was never as popular for parties, more for smaller sessions of folk in squats etc..
actually it was falling out of favour by 2008/09 and replaced by mephedrone, but that stuff can create as much of a paranoid or even angry buzz as a happy one.

there’s actually still a lot of good drugs about, its more peoples attitudes what have to change. I think they are with some younger people but they now have a uphill struggle finding venues as folk are stubborn here and won’t forgive and forget previous excesses..
clearly these people in NL are not getting good pills..

and there’s fuckloads more, I was suprised to see such bad trouble at NL events, which I always thought were well-run and peaceful. if/when I ever go to NL I will be staying away from these! I hope not all dance music events at NL are like this, it seems worse than England!
I also learned a few Dutch swear words and insults in the comments, too – but at least it seems some of the commentators disagree with the violence. it is interesting (if a shame) that the same problems occur each side of the North Sea…
Leuk joh, een gratis feest verneuken.
Nog effe en er mogen nergens meer feesten gegeven worden.
Stakkers!!!
roughly translated (my Dutch is not yet as good as Sasori’s English)!
“dude, that is just a way to fuck up a free party.
Too much more of this and no more free parties will be allowed.
Bastards!”
(I know “stakkers” should translate as “wretches” but in English this means a poor person we are supposed to take pity on and I would use stronger words against folk what deliberately fuck up a party…
only done pills 4 times and mandy 1.
the times i did the pills, i didn’t enjoi it at all! spent most of the nights sitting down, all uncomfortable, sweaty, smelly and drinking like an ox but not getting drunk. fun times :mkay:
but the one time i did MDMA, was with p0ly and honeybear round my yard (yes i am that ‘street’, i call my house my ‘yard’ lol) i spent a fair proportion of the night in my dogs bed in a twisted car crash of a state! was pretty good…until I went to the lav…..AGHHH!!! where’s my willy gone?! lol
but yeah, the pills, although only ever doing them 4 times, i never once felt as if they where what they were supposed to be, one lot were very speedy the others were just shit to be fair. But I always felt like a train wreak after taking them, dunno if the excessive drinking helped or not but im glad I don’t go near them anymore…..*shudders
thats my ramblings innit
sounds like you definitely got piperazine based pills. nasty stuff.
Vervuild (in English, befouled) is a very good word to use describe those pills..
What im still surprise is that 60% of the Peoples never test the Pills before buying them. The Peoples that Sell fake things wasten it for the Peoples that Sell good things.
Thats why you see at some Party’s that Peoples are Angry at each other becouse they dont have been taken the real deal. That is mine Conclusion about this Issues.
I never had Problems with this things at all, but it is still Sad for Peoples that have this Problems. I hope this gonna be Change in the Future.

I am surprised too that in NL people don’t make use of testing – as it still appears to be tolerated by the Government!
In England you can get pill testing kits but the current Government feel that it encourages drug use, so if someone was seen setting up a pill testing stall at a rave here the Police would arrest them on suspicion of being a drug dealer. It is however OK to test drugs at home.
Here the only political party which would allow drug testing is the Green party (like Groenlinks in NL).
people in both our countries need to be more careful of what they are taking. what is sad is that I expect in both NL and UK most ravers are nice friendly people but bad drugs and alcohol together can make a few people get out of hand. I could tell from watching the film that most people did not like the fighting and wanted nothing to do with it…
BTW myself, potholebill, josh96320, Biotech, Titch, SUBVERSION and a few others all live in the East of England, not too far away from NL 😉 – things are quite similar here in many respects. Some of my friends are travelling to Amsterdam later this year.
What are good places to go to? If I went to NL I would like to avoid the usual “tourist” places and bad raves with violence and racism (I am a British Asian), but go to good places with friendly people..
