Yeah you’re right.
perfectly legal stuff like computers and electronics (and even books about them) sourced from the USA often has s $1 = £1 “exchange rate”. This has been the case for 20-30 years or more. If you are buynig items where the source components started off in Asia and final assembly remains in the EU the prices are fairer; but unfortunately this isn’t possible with cocaine (and would still be an issue even if it became legal tomorrow).
Did I read this part of your stastement correctly GL, That even though each country has it’s own currency the value of which drepends on many strength factors. …..Unless you’re Team America, World Police” then your 66cents is worth a solid pound sterling. How many other cpuntries does this happen in. I could imagine 1 or 2 countries laughing in their faces for that.
it was worse in the 1990s and to be fair is mostly confined to trade of small luxury goods between USA and UK; these goods being something you cannot easily obtain from another country. Its not as common nowadays as the EU insists that some gadgets like desktop computers, big TVs, solar panels etc must be assembled in a EU country or the whole thing gets extra tax duty. (its also logical to assemble big heavy things closer to where they are used). It also impacted the pricing of “Japanese” goods as these were also priced in dollars.
The EU market interventions and the rise of the Euro has tamed it to some extent (and may well be the real reason why Americans are so hostile to EU and European “socialism”). I still see it today in hobby electronics where a small (USA produced) circuit board which costs $20 often costs £20 or €20 in Europe (unfortunately there seem to be subtle methods used to discourage Brits from buying the kit in Euros and making a bit of a saving). The reason they still get away with it is often because it is hard to get the circuit board without dealing with USA; unless its not copyrighted and the Chinese turn out the stuff in the thousands.
Unfortunately although the raw materials for electronic components can be found worldwide; it seems that those for cocaine grow countries geographically and culturally closer to the USA.
Ever wondered why every other street drug or NPS / RC is comparatively cheap nowadays whilst cocaine retains a premium price?

I don’t know your age, so maybe u have or not an idea if this price remind the same as 10 years ago?
i was paying for 100 to 300 gr 32 Euro/gr in the beginning of 2000 and if i wanted more on credit , it was 40.
This price I paid to my contact (wich include his comission) which knew the person who received it from the transporter coming from surinam
and for a k paid cash, the price was 22’000 (comission included)
in 10 years the prices went down in my country, but this can be caused to the change rate wich were 1,55 swiss frank for 1 Euro in 2002 and is today only 1,25 for 1 Euro
but the offer against the demand has growth also, so it is difficult for me to compare the price evolution in ten years. As long i don’t travel to the dam region to talk witjh my contact,
I won’t be able to have a real idea of the prices
(hope my english is clear)
I would be interested in the price you give at which level it is, cuz i would have paid at this time (2002) 22’000 for a k, comission included for my contact?
