there has been some more language confusion – Europaboy has replied to a reply for a different person (who was getting paranoid about the “personalised” threads with what appears to be a perfectly true statement of his physical age ( 1985 + 30 == 2015).
In some languages you would say “I have 30 years” (FR : J’ai trente ans) rather than “I am 30 years old”.
personalised threads seem to confuse lots of people if the forums are not in their first language; I nearly got caught out by one myself on a Dutch forum until I remembered the Dutch have a similar sense of humour to that of the UK (even if it is often 180 degrees reversed like the word order of their languages).
This one is not making fun of anyone though; it is a perfectly innocent question as to how old you may be. There is no requirement to answer it but it is of wider interest to see how many people persist with “hedonistic” or “controversial” lifestyle choices as they go from their early to later youth and the start of middle age.
I do not consider my age (the details in my profile are correct) to be any big secret and am perfectly willing to share it; if only to show that some of us from the 1980s/1990s are still alive and (relatively) sane..
