Weed is not legal in NL but is decriminalised. At present a foreigner can open any business they want in NL or other EU nations (such as the UK) but must clear the immigration system first. But there is a backlash against tolerance in some areas of NL precisely because the foreigners have become better at selling some drugs than the natives. They are strict about you knowing the local language if you are not from EU (though it is not as difficult to learn as its made out to be, its slightly easier than German and way easier than Chinese). I started (out of pure curiosity) in 2008 and have got to about early high school level now and that is just self teaching via the Internet. Though if you are considering emigration you might be better off first migrating to the UK as its culturally more similar to where you are.

The good news is as a professional married couple you would probably find it fairly easy to clear immigration, provided both of you can immediately get jobs (the border agency will check up on all of this).

The bad news is it is still no pushover, you will have to spend about £2500 getting all the paperwork sorted just for you and your wife (and more again for the pets, though UK will let them in too provided they are healthy) and drugs are still illegal here. Of course you won’t get hanged (death penalty is forbidden across Europe unless its world war) and corporal punishment was stopped years ago but the authorities are suspicious of SE and East Asians as they already grow a lot of cannabis here and the amount you smoke would probably pass the threshold of “intent to supply”.

if you move to some bits of the UK and accidentally let neighbours smell what you are smoking, especially with all the extra heat and light for the snakes they might think the “chinese” couple are growing dope, and call 999 (or instead they will try to burgle your house to get the cannabis, and then steal your snakes instead as they are valuable exotic pets in UK)

If you get caught you are liable to get a longer or harsher sentence and then be deported (UK will not deport you back to SG until you have finished your sentence or paid your fine though as they do not usually deport people back to countries with death penalty).

Also UK economy and Europe as well is in a worse state than that of Singapore!

taking anything else on top of drugs to fool a test not only will not work but is dangerous to health as the livers/kidney are already stressed from taking the drugs.

TBH even though penalties in SE Asia seem harsh and crazy they are way less than 10/20 years ago, I read about a case in Malaysia where that lad would have been charged with the harsher offence for which he would have had death penalty but he was only done for a lesser offence, and another older syabu (crystal meth) user in his 30s given a lenient penalty. And Singapore cannot afford to hang all its young people for taking drugs and partying, when there are not enough babies born there as it is and high emigration rates. The risk of Western nations using drugs as a distraction tactic to recolonise Asia (which was the justification for the harsh penalties) is long gone now, some Asian nations now have better economies than Southern European nations!

At the same time Europe is becoming less tolerant as there are too many people in our countries who take too many drugs and burden the public health care systems and make themselves incapable for work by their drugs use.
