TBH whilst the sativex advice is 100% valid, its perhaps better on a forum with a older age profile (like tribal living where there are folk well into their 60s-70s with associated health problems) as the bulk of drug users on here are either hedonists or recovering addicts (and some unrepentant ones) which is to be expected on a rave forum.
I am uneasy about confusing the two issues, especially as there are already a lot of drugs used to this day in legit healthcare which have recreational uses and one reason its so hard for younger folk (often with legitimate medical conditions) to get them is due to the risk of diversion and corruption of healthcare staff all along the line.
this was a big problem for the NHS and similar equivalents across Europe from the 1970s to the 1990s (especially as party drugs culture spread across the continent in the 90s). Before that prescribing was a lot “looser”, but remember folk lived far more conservative lifestyles then. as early as the 70s the bad impacts were being seen, I’ve been chatting to folk my parents age and they have some proper horror stories about the so-called “good old days”. a lot of people didn’t even make it!
