Send in the denke I say.
Which guy? I mostly post facts. That isn’t against the law. If I had signed up to the Official Secrets Act I could be prosecuted for revealing Official Secrets.
Guess what? I never signed. I just use public source / public access materials. So can anybody else.
I have chronic back pain and have suffered for years. Got addicted to Codeine (didn’t realise till a new doctor told me!), but have got over that now. The only thing that helps me is Valium – but his is addictive and I really don’t wanna go there again. I do smoke weed at night to help me sleep, but really need something to take during the day that doesn’t make me high or tired – does Sativex do this? Also, do you know if I could get is prescribed at the Chronic Pain Clinic?

it would depend on the local PCT policy but there is no reason otherwise why it should not be prescribed at a chronic pain clinic. it might be worth trying provided you don’t have any history of drug related criminality and/or are classed as “old enough to have grown up” (so not a diversion risk). I’m not sure though whether or not the stuff makes you high or tired…

Well, you don’t get the nicotine stimulant effect like a joint. Joint smokers tend to want a cigarette in combination with Sativex (because that’s what they are used to). That’s not a tiredness effect BUT it is less physically stimulating. Smokers can use nicotine replacements to help them come off the tobacco with Sativex, but it’s touch and go for the first 5 days. Tobacco is a HARD habit to break. Get to day 6 without a gasper (smoke) and it’s downhill, but it’s tough getting to that point.
In terms of high… muscle relaxant, euphoria, but not a trip or hallucinatory. Depends on dosage (1 bottle = approx 100 sprays). 2 sprays as required. Morning, noon and night (3 doses of 2 sprays) should make one bottle last a fortnight or more. If you down a whole bottle at once, then it’s rather like a whole space cake to yourself!
I worked out that a joint is approximately 6 times (600%) or more powerful as one dose of Sativex, weight for weight in terms of THC content of a strong skunk 0.25 grammes of weed. Although if you smoke cannabis, a lot is wasted (because the joint burns away even when you are not inhaling).
EDIT: I will put up the Bayer & Bayer official rating of THC and CBD content per spray in microlitres. When I come across them again… that way others can check.
Ok, GW Pharmaceuticals is the originator of the name (Bayer & Bayer just licensed to manufacture in the UK).
Amounts per spray (100 microliters) is 2.7mg of Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol and 2.5mg of cannabidiol (CBD) from Cannabis Sativa L
sounds like a lot of hassle for some weed but the good thing is that technically it would be legal right? so that is one plus side.
“Medical Necessity” is the one circumstance when the cops would be in the wrong for taking a drug off you.
They would still take it off you, and the IPCC would be a complete waste of time for getting any compensation. But after that complaint, they’d have to leave you alone on the subject (they could still hassle you for supplying others though).
It’s a step. And the amounts needed for medical use are tiny. Fact is, 500 quid for 3 bottles charged to the State is silly, bearing in mind the precursor is a plant.
I figure a quarter bottle (20 cl, about 200 ml) of Wray & Nephew, 7 g of ground-up hash (or 14-20 g of a good skunk bud, depending on strength) should make about 5 and half microspray bottles worth, about £850 by NHS prices for about £40 worth of components. The economics are staggering, BUT;-
MAKING SATIVEX YOURSELF IS OF COURSE ILLEGAL, As it is an equivalent of a Grade A controlled substance (oil).
Also, has to be made fresh. Opened bottle will evaporate in about 6 weeks. Carrying it in a prescription bottle, with your name on the bottle (part of the label), is the only way to make sure the cops don’t take it off you.
It’s a lot of hassle getting a Sativex prescription, but is can save you hassle down the road. If the consultant WON’T prescribe, you are of course entitled to a second consultant’s opinion while you sue the arse off the first one (or otherwise obtain remedy for the medical negligence).
I found that im better off without weed, it made me tired in the mornings, and once you’re off it a couple of days you feel better and happier, that’s my experience from it. I was sat in a house about 2 weeks ago and fellas in their 20s were just sat there with their heads down. At least half the people that smoke weed, really shoud’nt. They think their enjoying themselves but their not.
^^ forreeal man. hate it when im chillin wit some homies and they all boring as fuck when they stoned. just sit there and stuff there faces. when i get stoned i wanna go do some shit
same manaman, weed smokers don’t realise how much they are relying on it either. when i quit after a few years of nonstop use i wasnt bored and unhappy all the time anymore, i felt amazing! i knew then that i’d easily barely touch the stuff after that. i still see people stuck in that addiction who have been smoking way longer than me… real shame
As this thread isn’t aimed at recreational weed smokers, I find your comments puzzling if generally accurate about recreational weed smokers.
In a shockingly stereotyping way of course. But hey, you’re busy people with busy lives – why just accept people when you can kick them for being themselves, eh?
Yeah, way too busy to think about a reply.
