AU is a strange country, they moan about “foreigners” but try to act like they are Chinese in SE Asia – they have strict drugs laws and also much more monitoring/surveillance and controls on free speech similar to the neighbouring nations.
That said its Commonwealth heritage but abandoning the death penalty means a lot of MY and SG dealers go there as worst case is they do time in AU prison and have to be sent back as a free person as they will not normally extradite a prisoner back to a country where they are facing death penalty.
However, it is also potentially illegal in AU to discuss drugs production or glorify their use, it is explicitly mentioned as such on their Communications Ministry website (unlike the EU which gives more protection to free speech). This doesn’t affect our site but could create significant security risks for the OP.
The way I see it is like one of them 80s karate films – imagine your stereotypical 6 foot tall beer swilling aussie with corks round his hat, what goes to a Oriential country to learn martial arts. Of course he initially gets his arse kicked by the little Chinese dudes, but over the months they develop a mutual respect and friendship and train him to be a good fighter. This is basically what they are doing between AU and SG/MY but in the methods of surveillance and social control..
