As the title says I have just been upgraded by Virgin. I took a snap of my speed test for ya. I used to have a 30mb connection BTW.

I have highlighted the up and download speeds in yellow for ya.
Very nice! I used to be on a reasonable (for this country) 21Mbs but that’s dropped to 10 since we moved to the new house…
Still having issues with it though, the wireless speed is shit. It was giving me half a mb speed so I changed the channel it runs on but I only get 20 to 30. I never used to have issues with achieving my full speed with wireless.

How much do you pay for that?
it works out at less then £5 a week for the same service if you have the phone and free tv with it (you have to pay extra for phone calls and line rental but internet alone is <£5 a week), i have the same speed at louge before his upgrade, mine will not happen till next year ;(

I tell ya how you can get your upgrade now-ish. All that happens is the engineer has to come round and make sure that you have the correct superhub. No wire changes nothing just a visual check on the hub (silly isn’t it) then he will reset it on his computer and when it comes back online you will be doubled. So what you need to do is book an engineer apointment for something trival justg tell them that your super hub keeps switching off or something. Then when your on the phone mention that while the engineers round can he double your speed for you and they will arrange it for ya. Cos i’m not ment to have it until july, its just I said to them on the phone about it, and hey presto.

it depends if they have put the extra cables in in your local area .. you must of been the first place they have done it, afaik the works not even been done here
Ahhh yeah thats right i’m a cable customer anyway. Shoot, your what they call a national customer, or a minion as we say.

how do you mean? lol
I already use fiber optics with virgin, just I don’t think they have added the extra boxes that can handle the extra bandwith in this area. The fiber optics they use are theoretically infinite bandwidth (it’s not true infinite but it should handle it easy, it’s just the exchanges what can’t handle it currently as far as i understand it)
I pay £45 a month without TV and phone. Just the broadband. In a few months they are upgrading my line by up to an additional 20Mb and lowering the bill by a fiver, winning!
I get an extra 40Mb 😀
