At least they got busted in India (I think its only fines/prison rather than death penalty) rather than Malaysia…
Just a day after the Chennai Customs Department foiled an attempt to smuggle 15kg of ketamine to Malaysia, by stashing them among Hindu idols, the authorities intercepted another consignment also destined for Kuala Lumpur.
This time, the suspects used a courier company in Guummidipundi, an industrial town about 45km from Chennai, to export 15kg of ketamine.
Written on the courier docket was the receiver’s name, a restaurant in Kuala Lumpur, but no further details were available as the consignment was shipped using a special exporter’s code.
“The ketamine was hidden inside a tandoori cooking pot. The pot comes with a gas burner and underneath we found a stainless steel box, in which there were 14 polythene packets of ketamine,” a Directorate Revenue Intelligence (DRI) official, who is familiar with the investigation told Bernama.
The contraband was estimated to be worth about RM1.5mil in the international market.
According to the officer, no suspect was picked up as the information given by the sender was false.

just done a bit of maths and assuming the cops use the individual per gram street value (which they usually always do) it works out that users are only paying £15 per gram in Malaysia – cheap considering how high the stakes are for drugs in that country (death penalty for even relatively low level dealing and instant remand for posession!)
I’ve seen it go for £20 a gram in this country where cops give you a caution if your really unlucky enough to get caught – just shows how much demand there is worldwide and how much risks people are willing to take to get it..
jeeeeeeesus christ 15kg! lol
at least they didnt put it in condoms and swallow it..
as they used to say in this country, better to be hanged for a sheep than for a lamb….
i live in this country and ive never fuckin heard that LOL
definition please oh mr GL
Until the late 1800s/early 1900s livestock theft was a capital offence – punishable by death by hanging… so if you are going to risk getting hanged and are robbing livestock better to get a sheep as its worth more.
In 21st Century Malaysia and many other Asian nations dealing drugs is still punishable by death… (its a long story but these nations were once colonies of Britain, and Britain sold them loads of opium to keep their people from rising up against the colonial masters)
ahhhhhhhhhhhh i see 🙂
thankyou mr knowledge
TBH the main reason I take such an interest in that part of the world is because my extended family and ancestors are from there….
actually I’m as curious about the portable tandoori oven as one of my mates (the same dude who cooked the joint of venison what appears in my photo albums) would be interested in it…
