  • Man i feel for you. I’ve been noticing alot of problems with my laptop lately.

Getting to the point where i just want to do a complete computer wipe and start afresh.

Only thing is i have so much music on here i don’t wanna lose it.

I’m thinking about getting a portable memory drive and saving the music there and then wiping the laptop!

    how many gig of music?

FUK FUK FUK FUK FUK FUK FUK FUK

At the moment about 17 gb. I used to have more but have had a bit of a clear up in the last few days.

I figure get a memory drive and then that way my music will always be safe (unless the drive gets nicked lol) 😉

just burn it on to DVD’s mate no need to buy any external memory device unless u want it for other means. Mines 80gig which is sum what more tricky to backup with my limited funds 🙁

Well I’ve just found a decent USB memory drive from Amazon going for 43 quid, plus I reckon burning em would be quite costly and I haven’t really got room for more cds lol!

Has got quite a few 5 star reviews and most of em say it’s a drag and file system so i think I’ll have some of that. 😉

why not ay, flash drives are useful.

if u had a dvd burner u could do it for about 2 quid though and have a permanent backup 😉

I might have a look at that then pal! 😉

    firefox?

I have started my PC in safe mode and IE starts up just not on the normal boot up..

ok then it is either a toolbar or a virus i think

I have tried scanning with Symantec (all up to date and everything), Malwarebytes Antimalware, Iobit security, Spybot and Adaware. Some trojans found and removed. IE still does not work.

I read a report saying that google desktop can caus this problem. I think I have uninstalled all toolbars.

My own hypthesis is that something that was enabled is disabled (or maybe even vice versa). I remember the Gumtree page hanging up before it stopped working and I also saw a java icon in the bottom LHS screen that is not normally there. Alas, I am not an IT guy so am a bit clueless.

      Don’t know if this work

      1. Right click the Internet Explorer icon.
      2. Click on the Properties.
      3. Go to the Advanced tab
      4. Uncheck the box
      ‘Enable third-party browser extensions’.
      5. Restart the IE.

      maybe this works

Hi Ms Angel, long time no see, hope you’re keeping well..

Thanks for the advice, I will follow all above methods and report back later.

I must also say I find Firefox much quicker than IE.
