Nothing lasts but nothing is lost – william blake
I believe there is more than just our conscious existence on earth, but I’m not sure ‘I’ will exist when I die. Consciousness is just information though, the information structure that defines me as me may not continue in my head but information is everywhere and consciousness is everywhere. The information that represents my consciousness exists on the head of a pin. Whether that results in some tangible experience or not is a subject of much beard stroking.
That’s my scientific viewpoint. My irrational spiritual belief based purely on personal experience and gut feeling is that all consciousness is part of the same unit, subsets of the collective consciousness. Separateness is an illusion. When I die I will go back to the source. It will be nothing like the christian idea of heaven, no physical body. Something more like a k hole ;P As to whether anything happens from there (ie reincarnation), I havent made up my mind, but it would tie in with a lot of things about the world that don’t make sense to me yet.

I used to read about it sometimes and it does seem really strange that the way higher planes/astral planes (they are reached only by some, after years of meditating) are described, sounds very similar to some of the early K holes i experienced. DMT similar.
I try not to think about it alot cos whether there is an afterlife or not, the way i live my life wont change. Obv i’d love to believe there is.

Indeed your behaviour should be based on a rational moral code not some fear of punishment or desire for reward. In my opinion if there was a god he would not create beings to judge them. Judgement is a human quality and we find it almost impossible to imagine a deity that would not do the same, resulting in the vast majority of religions being obsessed by judgement.

I don’t quite know how it would be possible to play jenga when you can’t see infront of you? If you can though hats off
Now that would be exciting
Im still undecided on the whole science vs religion debate…and the afterlife. Id like to believe there is something after death….but to say i believe without proof is too much.
Science can only go so far (as of yet) to explain everything.
