TBH it doesnt sound too bad, if people knew what they were getting involed in i dont see why they should go to the sun after. Fucking sun paper pisses me off. In all honestly i would props think about taking part in this if i was a skint uni student.
I’d do it.
I’m not scared of needles and i reckon i’d be able to handle their stupid mind games.
I just read it they didnt even do mind games really they just made the people think there hand was a rubber hand. That pretty tame for ket, ive thought all sorts of mad stuff before :laugh_at:
The comments on this are stupid aswell its the sun makes out that they basicly injected 15 random people with ket. One of the people involed even says it was a posative experiance…..
It’s settled then, Daftfader pays me 250 to sniff 2 gs then tries to pretend i owe him the cash.
ID DO IT!!
its not even mind games. Its a perfectly legitimate piece of uni research, which would have had to be licensed by the professors etc as ketamine is a Class C substance.
however students at them sort of brainy unis can be right two faced backstabbing bastards so its hardly surprising they are prepared to stitch up their peers by taking their money and drugs and then going to the gutter press…
I think the blog post was written tongue-in-cheek.
These sorts of trials go on all the time, with people being paid much more than £250! The Sun’s article is just tabloid sensationalism.
unfortunately the tabloid backlash is what exactly puts off Universities and the NHS from conducting useful research into substances which might have both therapeutic and recreational potentials. The fact that some stuck up uni student is prepared to take that £250 and grass to the tabloid paper is no laughing matter either, especially as had she not done so I doubt that rag would have bothered dragging up the story – its hardly as if they normally scour learned journals of Cambridge scientists for stories..
perhaps next time the researchers should make the trial subjects sign a non-disclosure agreement, whereby if they talk to the Press outside certain confines they can be sued. A fair court would not prevent trial subjects divulging geniune malpractice in the public interest (such as that trial of that new drug what half killed loads of folk) but would perhaps stop people making frivolous negative comments…
A mate of mine recently got kicked of a medical trial for talking to his journalist friend about the process. He didn’t think that it would be an issue.
There was no legal action, but it shows they do have some sort of non disclosure agreement.
Make sure you’re with people you know really well because if you fall into a K hole, you will be completely detached from your body and your psyche. Bad things can easily happen. Thank goodness I my olden younger days, I had a tight crew who would look out for each other, but you’re really exposed to the elements with K because you’re completely unaware and detached from reality. But when you have good people around you, what a RIDE…
….
yea, don’t get hooked, you will loose your memory of who you are. really!!!…
