Hi,
I just thought that I would let you all know that I am still looking for people to take part in my study.
If you are interested please PM me.
Thanks,
Justin
I’m doing my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at University College London (UCL), and my thesis is investigating the effects of ketamine on mental processing and personal experiences. I have been given permission by the administrators of ‘partyvibe’ to post messages to see if any one would like to take part in the study. Before I continue, I would like to apologise in advance for any offence that may be caused by using your forum in this way. I also want to emphasise that this study is not being run by drug/pharmaceutical companies.
I am looking for people to participate who fall into either of these two groups:
1. Ketamine users (as well as other drugs) who use ketamine at least twice/month, for at least 1yr
2. Other drug users (EXcluding ketamine use) using drugs at least twice/month, for at least 1yr
The study takes about 1.5 – 2 hours, and comprises computer based tasks, as well as some pen and paper questionnaires, a drug history and a urine sample. (Participants will not be given drugs at the time of testing.) Your confidentiality will be assured.
In exchange for your time you will be paid £15.
Ideally, the study will take place at University College London (off Tottenham Court Road). However, if necessary I can meet people elsewhere. Testing can take place at pretty much anytime – week days and evenings, and weekends.
If you are interested and would like to know more please let me know, either on this forum or through a private message.
Thank you for reading.

Hi,
I’m still looking for people to take part in this study, especially people who have never used ketamine, but who use other recreational drugs at least twice a month, and have done for at least one year.
Please PM me if you are interested in finding out more/taking part.
Thanks,
Justin

Hello all,
Was searching through and just noticed this thread.
I took part in Justin’s study a couple of weeks ago. It was painless and Justin was very professional and a nice guy too!
The study involved some simple word association tasks and also some paper based questionnaires asking me about my views on everyday life.
Some people have mentioned that £15 is not a lot of money for doing a test like this, however I personally didn’t do it for the money. It is a very interesting topic for somebody to choose for a thesis and IMO it can only help us understand the possible causes of taking drugs, particularly K, in the long run.
I fitted into the 2nd group, as K has never appealed to me.
Hope you are getting on well Justin… just thought i’d give a reply here to settle any paranoia people may have about the study.
If you can spare a few hours and you’re based in London, go for it.
I’m looking forward to hearing the results!

All the best.
dont think its k, if peeps wanna do it fair play. its just the types of peeps that are startin 2 go 2 raves. shame. but it still goin strong. as long as we out number them we r ok.
Hi,
If you are a non-ketamine user and would like to take part in this study, please let me know – I really need some more people!!
Thanks,
Justin

Hi,
You may have seen my messages about my thesis study into the effects of ketamine (info below). I have been able to recruit most of the ketamine participants. Now I need to recruit people who use drugs at least twice a month, for at least a year, but have never used ketamine.
If you are interested, please read below and/or PM/email (justin.grayer@ucl.ac.uk) me for info.
Thanks very much.
Justin

Hi Everyone,
I have nearly recruited all the people I need for the ketamine group, but need lots of people who don’t use ketamine but use other drugs, and people who don’t use any drugs at all.
If you fit one of these groups and are interested please PM me.
Thanks,
Justin

you’re either sound or you’re not
and both of those chemicals have a big dark side IMO
I hate k
My friend just died because of it,
I always have and always will hate k in all aspects, have not got anytime for dribbling k addicts.
went out with one for 2 1/2 years, no more of that please.
in moderation k is ok like all drugs, but from my personal view of k, I f**king hate it!!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry to hear that dutti
:group_hug:group_hug:group_hug:group_hug:group_hug
How did it kill your friend? Was it the drug itself or a side effect from long term abuse?

My friend John, in his 30’s was a exodus solider and raver. Kaned drugs in the past, but got kids and a girl and had settled down.
He decides to come out to Tunnel crew at The Roundabout last Friday as he hasn’t been out for a long time. We come back to a friends for after session, then him and his mates go off to a friends house. John has only tried K a few times before but smokes ganja every day. after many drinks and possibly other drugs he has a line of k, he then passes out on the floor.
The next morning when they tried to move him he was stiff and dead.
The ambulence think he may have had a heart attack, me and my friends think he may have sufficated because he was to k up to move him self as he had his face in the carpet.
This guy has kaned drugs and smokes Ganja every day.
He tries k for the 2nd time and dies.
WHY IS K A CLASS C? AND GANJA (SKUNK) A CLASS B?
This is not the 1st time this has happened I can count on one hand how many peeps I know who have died or been mentally or physically damaged by k in the last 2 years.
There is not one person who can persaude me into taking k again. it is the most anti social drug around except smack and vibe when you are surround by peeps who have had too much is cold and souless.
I will stick with the uppers thanks, don’t see the point of doing downers when your raving.
