imho, coke has been worse than k, for the scene.:hopeless:
good point. Nowadays a lot of people combine coke and K so they dull their emotions and get an angry buzz, would account for a lot of the way the party scene has gone in some areas..
Serious question for genuine advice please
How can you help someone with a 2-3 gram a day ketamine habit (not injecting but still)?
not that ive really helped anyone outta a habit, im guessing that addiction is a process that only the user can stop.
unless they actually are forced to detox by ending up in HMP (usually because they’ve started robbing to fund their habit) or due to chronic (long term) illness becoming acute (feeling so ill you end up in the ambulance/hospital) its only a decision the user can make
they have to decide for themselves that other aspects of life are better than their drug use – that said, a change of friends and scenery can make a lot of difference to any sort of desire to take anything.
Unfortunately people addicted to K are only just filtering through to drugs services and there is very limited information on how to treat them. Let alone a substitution alternative like methadone for opiate users.
Physically the effects of too much K are increasing bladder and kidney infections. congested lungs, post-nasal drip… let alone tolerance/dependance.
Psychologically ego-centricity, depression, lethargy etc
Even these side effects are not that well documented…
My advice and experience with it and other halluconogens is only the person using it can stop.
As with all addictions it will eventually bring you to your knees, when you have to decide between life or death..
By the way, I am a reasonably heavy K user, going through 4-5g’s every weekend so am probably not the best person to ask. Although my problem has never been understanding drugs side effects but having the kick up the ass to stop em!

Thanks SD, I know, just thought it worth running by you guys
Recently saw young friend of mine, kinda like a little brother, havent seen him since January, shares a house with an old friend of mine.
Really worried. Ematiated, literally. Pissing blood. Scrunched up in agony. He curled into me on the sofa for a hug and I didnt want to squeeze too hard, felt like he’d break.
He asked for my help (i’m a nurse), I got him to a doctor, got him on antibiotics for a nasty kidney infection, bought food, if he doesn’t improve he needs to be admitted.
Now what? I know about addiction but I’ve no personal experience with a ketamine addiction like this so thought I’d run it past you guys.
I know he needs to do it himself but any handy hints gratefully received thanks
He needs to do it for himself really – got a now and then photo of him you can show him? something to make him stop and think?
I’m sure he knows and he asked for my help so . . . i feel entitled to get involved now, if you know what I mean.
Thanks Raj , that’s a good suggestion, he was a good lookin young lad, decent dress sense that sort of thing so maybe a possible approach
its not really any useful advice, but i find that whenever me or a friend is going thro a rough patch, when you take them to the top of a big hill on a sunny day, forcing them to talk and talk and talk while getting fresh air and a good veiw, generally opens them up to make them stop and think about what emotions theyre trully going thro and also making them appreciate how nice normallity and sobriety is…

How to able to float around in a tank talking to dolphins.
On a more serious note. Is the K your pal is using the real deal or cut with all sorts of crap? The guy needs serious breaks in between his K usage tarifa.

to be honest ive never found k heds a problem at partys there always to fucked in their own world to care about bothering anyone – i think the real problem is the atmosphere on the streets at the moment as thats what comes through in a rave – having people smoking and selling crack doesnt help either – when the good weather comes things will improve :group_hug
