Out of all the drugs I’ve seen become popular since 1991 K does seem to have created the most issues amongst the sort of people what aren’t really “junkies” such as my circles of friends in both London/SE England and East Anglia.
even if comparatively few people suffer major medical issues it hasn’t improved a lot of my mates health or quality of life.
the authorities have backed themselves into a corner with the classification though – because K is a useful legit medical drug its only been made class C (to stop the costs to the NHS and the veterinary profession spiralling) – which still means its more
profitable and less risky to deal than MDMA or amfetamine.
the whole K thing in SE and Eastern England is very recent and stems from the late 1990s when MDMA became increasingly poor quality, and people being greedy with amfetamine frightened themselves away from this substance.

This would be the case if problematic drug users (including the legal drugs) actually dropped dead quickly / or took massive overdoses. But in fact they don’t, they end up becoming regular users of expensive NHS treatment (both for physical and mental health issues) in their 20s and can end up being in this situation for 20/30 years, and some of them even end up claiming invalidity benefits etc…
that is however a good argument though to legalise the lot including all the class A’s and have them as strong as possible. The greedy people (and/or those who are actually genuinely suicidal) would simply cull themselves out, the rest would learn to self regulate, and once someone is dead they present no further burden to society.
